To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we at BMH proudly presented the Rising Star Talent Competition. It was a fantastic opportunity for our talented students to take to the stage and share their creativity with the community.
A Showcase of Diverse Talents
The afternoon unfolded with captivating vocal and recitation performances.
Opening the vocal segment, P1 students Valerie and Mia charmed the audience with "Monsters," their clear voices carrying a message of youthful bravery.
Elsa performed a powerful and nuanced rendition of "Let it go," demonstrating impressive vocal control. Later, P4's Simon ignited the stage with an energetic performance of "WAKE," his dynamic presence electrifying the crowd.
Ella and Emily showcased beautiful vocal chemistry in their duet "Rain Love," their voices intertwining with heartfelt sincerity.
Toby from P1 recited the challenging classical poem "Shu Dao Nan" (The Hard Road to Shu) with remarkable maturity. P4's Matt offered a personal touch, sharing his self-penned piece "BMH's 10th Anniversary," filled with genuine affection for the school.
The percussive power of the drums took centre stage with P2's Doyoon and P3's Sofia delivering a high-octane performance of "Want to Say I Love You Loudly." P3's David provided contrast with the lighter, uplifting rhythms of "Hot Air Balloon."
Coco moved listeners with the sensitivity of her "Someone You Loved" performance. Jay transported the audience with the vibrant "Xinjiang Dance."
Rebecca and Elsa delighted with a playful "Merry March," while Smile and Hugo captured the laid-back groove of "Mojito" on the keys.
Ailsa brought stately elegance to Handel's F Major Sarabande. Eve's violin piece "Butterfly" fluttered with delicate grace. Dean concluded the string performances with a passionate and technically assured rendition of the first movement from Mendelssohn's E Minor Violin Concerto.
Bert added a unique dimension with a spirited bamboo flute performance of "Star Dance," featuring distinctive rhythmic patterns and joyful melodies.
More Than a Performance:
The Heart of BMH
The Rising Star Talent Show was far more than an exhibition of skills; it embodied the core values of BMH's educational philosophy. Our music program prioritizes nurturing aesthetic appreciation, creativity, resilience, and empathy over training professional musicians.
The confidence and stage presence displayed by every performer were clear testaments to the skills cultivated through regular opportunities like our monthly "Music Salon"
This event was a major milestone, celebrating the students' dedication to excellence. BMH's decade-long commitment is powerfully reflected in this — every child can shine.
