BMH Prep and Junior High School recently held a concert and art exhibition in celebration of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. Through musical performances and visual art, students expressed their appreciation for family and country, bringing the themes of reunion and national pride to life.
The program began with P5 students Antonio and Audrey delivering a bilingual recitation of "My Incredible Country," expressing shared sentiment in both Chinese and English. This was followed by Shero and Joyce's vocal performance of "The Girl with Wings," delivered with clarity and grace.
Junior High student Zhuoer Yang performed the traditional Chinese piece "Red Lilies in Blossom" on piano, showcasing her technical skill and musicality. P2 student Mollie then offered a contrasting mood with her performance of "The Little Frog Choir," a playful piece that delighted the audience.
P2 student Waner presented a solo dance titled "The Balladeer," characterized by fluid movement and expressive phrasing.
The concert also featured a piano duet by Krisa and Steve, who demonstrated remarkable coordination and synergy in their performance.
A cross-grade ensemble performed a group dance to "Wishing We Last Forever," interpreting through movement the classic poetic theme of connection across distance. The event concluded with a choral performance of "My Motherland," in which harmonized voices created a powerful and unifying finale.
Through paintings and crafts, young artists brought three themes to life: "Blooming Flowers," "Jinli Fish," and "Stories of the Mid-Autumn Festival."
You can see moons imprinted with tiny fingerprints, fish swimming in curious curves, and a jade rabbit at the helm of a spaceship. Colorful clay works depicted festive harvests and family gatherings.
Each piece reflects a fresh, imaginative perspective on the Mid-Autumn Festival, showcasing both creativity and children's unique interpretation of the holiday.
The concert and exhibition served as a fitting prelude to the holiday season, reflecting the school's spirit of community and cultural appreciation. We wish all students and families a restful and enjoyable break.
