To further optimize the school's catering management, safeguard students' food safety, and give full play to the bridging and supervisory role of the Parent Committee for Catering Supervision, our school solemnly held a working meeting of the Catering Supervision Committee on the afternoon of November 5th, at which the new-term Catering Supervision Committee was elected and established. Principal Liao Yanfang, Vice Principal He Xiaojun, Director Wang Hao of the Moral Education Department, Director Chen Debin of the Safety Department, and parent committee representatives from all grades attended the meeting, which was hosted by Vice Principal He Xiaojun.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Principal He Xiaojun expounded on the original intention and significance of establishing the Catering Supervision Committee, conveyed the relevant requirements of higher-level authorities, clarified the specific responsibilities of the parent members of the Committee, and gave a comprehensive introduction to the parents regarding the school canteen's operation system. Through the detailed explanation, the parents gained a clearer and deeper understanding of the school canteen's operating mechanism and their children's dining conditions at school.
During the solemn ceremony, Principal Liao Yanfang presented appointment letters one by one to the newly appointed director, deputy directors and executive members of the Catering Supervision Committee. An appointment letter is not only an honor, but also a heavy responsibility. The members all stated that they would live up to the trust, perform their duties conscientiously, and work together to safeguard the "food safety on the tip of the tongue" for the children. Afterwards, all the participants took a group photo to freeze the precious moment of home-school cooperation and joint efforts in educating students.
As the third agenda of the meeting, Ms. Chen Xi, Director of the Catering Supervision Committee, read out the commitment letter for performing duties, and all committee members solemnly signed the Catering Supervision Commitment Letter. The commitment letter specifies the scope of responsibilities, supervision contents and work procedures of the Catering Supervision Committee. Though just a thin sheet of paper, it carries profound trust and expectations; what the committee members shoulder is not only a bridge for communication between home and school, but also the first line of defense for the healthy growth of children.
In her concluding speech, Principal Liao Yanfang painted a warm blueprint for the school's teachers, students and parents, centered on "nurturing through food" and safeguarding growth. She emphasized that the school always puts students' health first, and has built a solid food safety barrier through "two safeguards": first, safeguarding food safety on the tip of the tongue to ensure every meal is safe and reliable; second, safeguarding balanced nutrition to inject sufficient energy into children's growth.
Principal Liao pointed out, "There is no final note for food safety, only a continuous march; in home-school co-education, there are no onlookers, and everyone is a participant; there is no pause button for children's growth, and we must go all out!" The school will, with the perseverance of "holding fast to the green hills and never letting go", continuously strengthen food safety supervision, and with a high sense of responsibility and mission, jointly write a new chapter in home-school co-education.
After the meeting, parent representatives, guided by the canteen management staff, entered the canteen operation area which is usually "off-limits to unauthorized personnel". From warehouse management, cleaning and disinfection, food preparation and cooking to tableware recycling, the parents observed the entire food preparation process. They witnessed with their own eyes the school's rigorous operations in food ingredient traceability, sample retention and testing, and hygiene management, thus gaining a more intuitive understanding of the "transparent kitchen" project. Finally, the committee members had a meal in the canteen, personally experiencing the taste and nutritional matching of the student meals. They all praised the school's standardized, safe and hygienic catering management, which truly ensures that children eat nutritiously, safely and healthily.
The smooth transition of the Catering Supervision Committee marks that the school's catering management has entered a new stage from "single-party supervision" to "multi-stakeholder co-governance". In the future, the school will take the Catering Supervision Committee as an important link, continue to improve the "education + supervision + service" trinity catering work system, and make "food safety on the tip of the tongue" the warmest foundation of home-school co-education.
