Anti-Bullying Day｜在深美，让每位学生都拥有面对不公的力量

After learning to identify bullying, students explore its emotional impact. When words like “sad,” “alone,” and “scared” appear, students recognize that emotional harm—though invisible—can be deeply painful. Through reflecting on personal experiences or observing others, they begin to understand the importance of empathy: when we understand how others feel, we are more likely to choose kindness and respect.

Anti-bullying education focuses on action, not just awareness. Through scenario practice, students learn practical responses: if the situation feels safe, they can say, “Stop. That’s not kind.”If not, they should walk away and seek help from a trusted adult. If they feel unsure, simply standing beside the excluded student offers support. Students learn that being a buddy isn’t just about kindness—it’s about taking action.

In real school settings, bystanders often determine whether bullying continues. SAIS emphasizes bystander empowerment, teaching students that speaking up, approaching a peer, or inviting someone to join a group can disrupt harmful behavior. Students learn that they are not powerless observers—they are key agents of change. When even one student chooses to stand up, the entire situation can shift.

Values last only when reinforced beyond the classroom. We encourage parents to continue these conversations at home and help sustain positive habits. A simple yet powerful question is:

“How were you a good buddy today?”

This reflection helps children recognize their choices and carry empathy and kindness into everyday life.

At SAIS, we believe that future leaders are defined not only by academic ability, but also by empathy, sound judgment, and the courage to stand up when it matters. The value of Anti-Bullying Day lies not in a single event but in helping students understand that they have the power to influence how others feel and to make our campus safer and kinder. Every student deserves to be seen, respected, and supported—and also to learn how to support others. 在确认判断标准后，我们引导学生思考欺凌带来的情绪影响。当“伤心（sad）”“孤单（alone）”“害怕（scared）”等词语呈现出来时，学生开始意识到情绪伤害虽然无法被看到，却可能是最深的伤口。通过回想自身经历或观察他人，他们逐渐理解同理心的意义：当我们理解别人的感受，我们就更愿意选择善意和尊重。

反欺凌教育的关键在于行动能力，而非仅仅“知道”。在情境演练中，学生练习多种可行的应对方式：如果觉得安全，可以礼貌而坚定地说：“Stop. That’s not kind.” 如果觉得不安全，则应离开现场并及时寻求可信任的大人帮助。如果难以开口，也可以走到被排斥的同学身边，给予支持。通过这些练习，孩子明白：Being a buddy isn’t just being kind—it’s taking action。

在现实校园情境中，旁观者的态度往往决定欺凌能否继续。因此，深美强调 bystander empowerment（旁观者赋能）。当旁观者愿意发声、靠近、邀请被排斥的人加入时，欺凌行为便失去力量。学生学习到：自己不是无力的“看客”，而是可以改变氛围、影响结果的重要角色。只要一个人站出来，整个情境就可能因此改变。

价值观若只存在于课堂，便无法长久。我们鼓励家长把反欺凌的讨论带回家庭，在日常生活中巩固孩子的选择与行为。一个简单却非常有效的问题是：

“今天，你是如何成为一个好伙伴（a good buddy）的？”

这样的对话能帮助孩子回顾一天的选择，把同理心与关爱从校园延伸到生活的各个场景。
