As 2025 draws to a close, we are thrilled to share a landmark announcement with our community:
Bromsgrove School Mission Hills has successfully completed the comprehensive evaluation by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) and is now officially authorized as an IB World School!
This achievement signifies not only that BMH's educational philosophy, curriculum, and practices have been recognized by an internationally authoritative standard, but also that we have unlocked broader and more profound developmental opportunities for every child.

What does it mean to
become an IB World School?
The International Baccalaureate (IB) system holds a distinguished position in global education for its coherent educational philosophy, high-standard curriculum design, and enduring commitment to cultivating international-mindedness. Authorization as an IB World School must go through a rigorous and systematic multi-phase authorization process.
In June 2024, following a rigorous review process, we were officially accepted as an IB Candidate School. Over the following year, we have continuously deepened our understanding and implementation of the IB philosophy, consistently refining our curriculum framework and finetuning teaching and learning, making steady progress toward the standards of an IB World School.
In March 2025, we welcomed the first visit from Ms. Jenny, an IB consultant, who provided invaluable professional guidance towards our successful accreditation efforts.
In November this year, the IB World School authorization team, Mr. Declan and Ms. Zhao, conducted a dedicated two-day in-depth visit to our school. This visit constituted not only a comprehensive review of our IB practices—including classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, document reviews, and community dialogues—but also a valuable opportunity to witness and recognition of our current educational achievements with IB experts.
Achieving IB authorization signifies that the school has passed systematic international scrutiny and professional validation across multiple dimensions: its educational mission, curriculum architecture, pedagogical approaches, learning assessment, and community engagement.
The IB-PYP programme authorized for our school is an early years educational framework specifically designed for learners aged 3-12. It is far more than an aggregation of curriculum content; it is a complete educational ecosystem. Centered on concept-driven, transdisciplinary inquiry, this framework will systematically guide us in optimizing teaching practices, ensuring that student learning consistently revolves around deep understanding of significant concepts. Furthermore, its explicit learner profile provides a clear roadmap and assessment benchmarks for implementing holistic education, making sure that the cognitive, social, emotional, and international-minded development of our students follows a clear guideline, and is fully supported, and measurable.
