Held on our spacious outdoor field, BMH’s Christmas Sports Day was a special blend of festive spirit, family teamwork, and active play.
This annual event is more than just a day of games—it’s a meaningful part of our physical education program and a treasured opportunity for parents and children to connect through movement.
There was no need for perfectly matched steps—every family entered in their own style. Younger children walked hand-in-hand with parents, while older students marched confidently behind their teachers, chanting class cheers and performing group dances they had prepared.
After the parade, teachers took to the field in festive outfits, leading a cheerful opening dance.
Then, with a call from our Deputy Principal, Ms. Monica—“Let the BMH Christmas Sports Day begin!”—the games were officially underway.
We designed 20 different games to match the abilities of each age group. Through activities like “Santa Sack Race” and “Hula Hoop Toss,” children practiced balance, coordination, and focus.
Team challenges such as the “Gift Stack Relay” encouraged planning, communication, and trust.
In group games like tug-of-war and parachute play, children experienced the power of working together. Specially designed parent-child activities reinforced an important message: participation matters more than winning, and staying active is a lifelong joy.
We believe sports teach far more than physical skills—they build concentration, strategy, cooperation, and resilience. Having parents join in makes these lessons even more memorable.
The event closed with a visit from Santa and elf, who delivered gifts wrapped in bags decorated by the children themselves in art class.
Some ask how we use our 50,000 square meters of outdoor space in daily learning. This sports day offered one answer: our fields and slopes are a natural extension of the classroom. Here, children can run freely, roll on soft grass, and explore movement without boundaries. Sunshine, fresh air, and open space are essential to education—they nurture not only strong bodies, but also confident minds and joyful spirits.
The true value of a family sports day lies in turning this environment into shared memories. Parents become partners, not spectators. Through play, families build understanding, trust, and connection that last long after the event ends.
The sounds of Christmas will fade, but the gifts of this day—laughter, effort, and time spent together—will stay with each child and family as we move into the new year.
A special thank you to the PTA and the family of Max from K2A for their wonderful support!
