This week, the BMH field was buzzing with energy for our annual Olympic Day. From the creative parades to the final cheers, the day celebrated not just competition, but community, personal challenge, and shared joy.
The day kicked off with a vibrant parade. Each class entered with unique flair—some with coordinated dances, others with energetic chants or thematic performances.
The spirited displays were warmly welcomed by school leaders and parent representatives. After the parade, the official oaths taken by our student athletes and referees set a tone of fair play and commitment, officially marking the start of the games.
Across the sprawling grounds, students embraced a wide range of challenges. Individual events tested speed in sprints, endurance in jump rope, and power in the standing long jump. Skill and focus were on display in badminton rallies, handball passes, and football matches.
A special highlight was the 9-hole golf tournament on the professional Mission Hills course, where young golfers demonstrated remarkable patience and technique.
The spirit of collaboration truly shone in team events: the coordinated “Caterpillar Dash,” the collective force of tug-of-war, and the supportive relays where encouragement echoed as loudly as the footsteps.
The closing ceremony celebrated more than just podium finishes. Medals were awarded for outstanding achievement, but the true spirit of the day was captured in the recognition of good sportsmanship, persistent effort, and unwavering team support. As noted in the closing address, every student who participated with heart had already won their personal victory.
The lessons learned on the field—about fair play, resilience, and cheering each other on—are ones our students will carry with them long after the day ends. Congratulations to all our athletes, and heartfelt thanks to the staff and families who made this memorable day possible.
