When thinking of career exploration, we can frame it as a lifelong journey where individuals understand their interests, skills, values, and goals while learning about the evolving world of work. This is important for students because it reassures them that they don't have to figure everything out right now, and it is OK to have more questions than answers.
Grades 9, 10, and 12 were able to attend the week's main event, Career Day, where they interacted with 18 different professionals from fields like finance, robotics, accounting, international relations, marketing, education, manufacturing, human resources and more.
They also listened to a keynote speech by Will Sung, an international business and leadership coach, career consultant for various universities, and the sitting vice chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce (South China). In his speech, Will encouraged students to discover their strengths through conversations with parents, teachers, mentors, and through real-world experiences. He also emphasized the growing importance of adaptability, problem-solving, and communication skill.
