The seventh prestigious TEDxShekou Intl School event was successfully hosted at SIS on February 8.

2月8日,第七届备受瞩目的TEDxShekou Intl School活动在SIS圆满举办。



What Made It Distinctive

何以与众不同?


  • Cross-division participation, with speakers ranging from Grade 4 to Grade 12, as well as adult educators

  • Approximately 200 attendees from across the Greater Bay Area

  • Multilingual talks in English and Mandarin, supported by live translation in English, Mandarin, and Korean

  • Breakout stations during intermission that allowed audiences to interact directly with speakers and engage more deeply with their ideas

  • Community performances featuring Mongolian music and Chinese dance

  • A theme structure divided into The Inner Mind and The Outer Mind to guide audience reflection

  • Participation by visiting teachers and students from an international school in Zhuhai, who will organize a TEDx event in their own community—reinforcing SIS’s role as a regional hub for student voice, global dialogue, and collaboration across schools

This joint talk explored how parents and teenagers can move from conflict to connection by replacing assumptions with empathy. Drawing on lived experience, the speakers highlighted the power of listening as a foundation for open-minded relationships.


开放思想,敞开心扉:改变亲子对话

这场演讲探讨了父母与青少年如何以共情代替成见,从冲突走向联结。演讲者结合亲身经历,强调倾听的力量,它是建立开放、真诚关系的基石。



Aaron challenged the audience to look beyond appearances and practice intentional observation. His talk reminded listeners that seeing with curiosity can deepen understanding and appreciation of the world around us.

Mr. Caid examined the “internal censor” that limits creativity and risk-taking. He encouraged the audience to quiet self-doubt to unlock growth and possibility.

Lincoln introduced the ancient concept of the Memory Palace, showing how visualization can strengthen memory. His talk demonstrated how playful strategies can lead to powerful learning tools.

Emma reframed games as more than distractions, presenting them as meaningful tools for learning and development. Her talk encouraged audiences to rethink how curiosity and play can lead to purpose.

Chloe and Minsung served as student emcees, guiding the audience with confidence, warmth, and humor.


TEDxShekou Intl School 2026 was organized by a collaborative team of teachers and students. Together, they coordinated speaker coaching, rehearsals, logistics, and community engagement over several months of preparation.


Chloe和Minsung这两位学生担任全场主持人,以自信、温暖且风趣的表现,引领全场观众。
