An impromptu performance drew rounds of applause at Heathrow Airport. Captured between flights, this spontaneous moment shows VMAers turning waiting time into music. The excitement of the journey, the trust built through rehearsal and companionship, gave them the confidence to begin - and let the music flow naturally through the space. The trip may end. But the connection between our students and the world is only just beginning.
At the start of the new year, Ms.Wu and VMAers traveled to the UK to participate in the London Winter Music Festival and visit some of the world’s most prestigious institutions, including the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, the Royal Academy of Music (RAM), and the Royal College of Music (RCM).
In just one week, students moved between leading universities, concert halls, museums, and historic churches. They were performers and observers alike - stepping into authentic international learning environments while expressing themselves on global stages. Through in-depth, face-to-face conversations with professors and admissions officers from top institutions, they began to see the diverse possibilities that music can open.
