Our name "Pengcheng" takes its inspiration from the nickname of Shenzhen, the City of the Roc. It is a tribute to the city’s pioneering spirit, and a vision to empower more young learners in Shenzhen to spread their wings and soar to great heights.
Merchiston Academy School evolves from Merchiston Songshan Lake Academy, which has rooted itself in Dongguan’s Songshan Lake for five years. After half a decade of exploration and refinement, we bring our proven educational practices to Shenzhen, becoming the first academy-style institution within the Merchiston family to feature East-West integrated education as its core pillar.
We trace our roots to Edinburgh, Scotland, and are deeply grounded in China. As an integral part of the Merchiston family, we share nearly 200 years of heritage in British elite education.
