ISNS Parent-Teacher Conference and Student-Led Conference |
On April 24, ISNS hosted its second round of Parent Conferences for the academic year, offering families meaningful opportunities to engage in their children’s learning. The school adopts two distinct yet complementary formats: Student-Led Conferences (SLC) and Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC), each designed to support student growth from different perspectives.
What is a Student-Led Conference?
Student-Led Conferences (SLCs), implemented in EY and Primary school, place students at the center of the conversation. Students take an active role in leading the conference, sharing their work, reflecting on their learning, and demonstrating their skills in real time.
These sessions are usually longer and more interactive, allowing families to engage directly with their child’s learning experience in a classroom setting.
What is a Parent-Teacher Conference?
Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTCs), conducted by Middle and High schools, are structured discussions between teachers and parents, typically without the student present.
These meetings focus on academic performance, data points, and goal setting, offering targeted insights into a student’s progress and next steps within a short, focused timeframe.
Together, SLCs and PTCs offer more than different meeting formats—they reflect how learning is experienced at ISNS.
Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, teachers guide with intention and insight, and families are invited to play an active role in the journey.
Through this shared approach, learning becomes a collaborative process rather than an individual task, where school and homework in alignment to support each child’s growth with purpose and clarity.
In addition, a book fair was held throughout the day, offering families the opportunity to explore and purchase books that support students’ interests and learning at home.
