From April 16 to 18, 2026, the ACAMIS Badminton Tournament was held at Keystone Academy in Beijing. 27 international schools from across China, including Hong Kong, gathered for three days of intense competition.

Tournament Recap

Day 1

Group Stage

ISNS faced five strong opponents: YCIS-HK, WAB, ISF, DAIS, and QSIS. Despite early nerves, the team quickly found their rhythm, finishing with three wins and two losses — third place in their group — advancing to the crossover elimination round. Meanwhile, Hayden F. and Luna L. fought through tough singles matches and both secured Top 8 finishes.

Day 2

Crossover Elimination

The intensity rose as ISNS took on XIS, NIS, and IST. Many players had multiple summative assessments due right after the tournament, yet the team remained disciplined, energetic, and focused. With one win and two losses, they advanced to the Bowl Division quarterfinals.

Day 3

Bowl Division Finals

On the final day, ISNS battled TIS, QSIS, DAIS, and DCSZ in the Bowl Division. Fully adapted and playing with seamless teamwork, they won three out of four matches, securing an outstanding national runner-up finish.

Over twelve team matches in three days, the students grew from tentative beginners into confident fighters. After every match, they gathered to analyze tactics and share insights — a powerful demonstration of reflection and a growth mindset.

ACAMIS Badminton Tournament

Phoenix Spirit & Teamwork

Regardless of the score, ISNS players supported each other unconditionally. Those on court fought with all their skills; those on the sidelines cheered, guided, and lifted their teammates. Every event — singles, doubles, mixed doubles — carried the collective effort of the entire team. As the players expressed, this bond of unity and encouragement meant more than any medal.

Hey team, this is my third and final badminton ACAMIS, and I honestly don’t even know how to put into words how much this tournament, this team, and all these memories mean to me. Thinking about it being my last one makes me emotional, because I know how much I’m going to miss every part of it, the matches, the energy, the support, and most of all, being able to fight alongside all of you.

Over these past three years, we’ve grown so much, and I’m really proud of how far we’ve come. Winning our first ever ACAMIS medal together in my final year is something I’ll always carry with me. It means even more because I got to experience it with this team. I truly believe that making it to Bowl Division is only the beginning, the first milestone in what will continue to be an even greater journey toward the Cup.

I’m so proud of every single one of you for how you played and how hard you fought throughout the tournament. No matter the results, you all gave so much, and that is something to be proud of. Even though we had some really close losses, please don’t let that hurt your confidence. Let it remind you of how close you already are, and let it push you to keep growing, improving, and becoming even better in the future.

I also just want to say thank you, truly. Thank you for all the support, thank you for the trust, and thank you for making this experience so special for me. The hotel clap-out meant so much more than I can explain, and moments like that are the ones I’ll never forget. I genuinely have no regrets about skipping prom for ACAMIS, especially because it meant spending this time with all of you. That is something I will always cherish.

Thank you for giving me such a meaningful final ACAMIS. I’m going to miss this more than I can say.

And please, make sure to keep the Sam’s Club tradition alive if Keystones still hosting next year.

I ain’t gonna lie, this is probably the most intense ACAMIS tournament I’ve attended. Before the trip even started, I’ve heard that almost all my teammates have at least 2 summative due shortly after the tournament. But despite the pressure of meeting deadlines, the whole team stayed strong, disciplined, and energetic.
There were lots of highs, and lows. Some great wins, and some tough losses. Other than the wins and losses, what surprised me the most is how much my teammates have improved, in terms of both skill and mentality. We were always ready for the upcoming game, no matter what happened.
Apart from the intense competitions, I’ve enjoyed some interesting time with my interesting teammates. I’ll probably never forget my man Kaiser’s flawless voice when he sings.
Words can’t describe my feelings right now, but I feel truly grateful for my teammate’s contributions. Not only the ACAMIS team, but the badminton team as a whole, including the coaches and staff that has been taking care of the team.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. It has always been my honor to be a part of the team.

This year’s badminton ACAMIS tournament truly was a memorable journey for me. Every moment I spent, both on and off the court, was really exciting and hard to forget. Throughout every game, I could see every one of our teammates giving it their all and performing at the peak of their skills. There was always energy in the air, and everyone was supporting one another. Regardless if our teammates were currently in a winning position or losing, no matter the situation, our team has lift each other up and been really supportive for each other. And with just that team spirit alone, it meant more than any medal we could have gotten.

During these three days, our team faced many ups and downs. We had times where we faced some tough losses and challenges that got everyone feeling down a little. However, we were able to push through; our team never gave up, kept trying, and eventually earned a well-deserved second place in the Bowl Division. Overall, this was a very good experience for our whole team and helps all of us improve.

Every single person on our team contributed to our achievements, and I want to give a great thanks to my teammates, our coaches, and all our supporters. Our encouragement between each other kept my self and the rest of our team going even when we felt low or nervous. I believe that as we bonded over this tournament, in the future we will only do even better, go even further, and get stronger together.

Looking Ahead:

This Is Only the Beginning

As graduating senior Kaiser said, “Making it to the Bowl Division is only the first milestone on our journey toward the Cup.” This ACAMIS campaign not only brought home a historic national runner-up trophy and two Top 8 individual finishes, but also forged resilience, reflection, and deep camaraderie. I would like to thank my coaching team (Mr. Morris, Mr. Lee) and all the school supporters for their dedication. The ISNS badminton team’s future is brighter than ever!

Kaiser I.

Arvin Z.

G10

Sasha L.
