We are delighted to share the wonderful news about the Prep 6 Graduation Ceremony, which took place on Saturday 4th July 2026. This special day was a celebration of the incredible achievements of our Prep 6 children, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.
The ceremony began with Headmaster Mr Ben Ping and Dr Charles Wall leading the Class of 2026 across the red carpet. Today they finished that walk amid applause. Their parents and teachers, standing on either side, watched with pride. The applause and the smiles spoke louder than anything else—they were the truest record of the childhood these children had lived.
Both headmasters then took the stage to mark the end of the children's primary school years. Mr. Ping looked back over the six years at BMH, reflecting on the small changes that had taken place in these children day by day. Dr Wall turned his thoughts to the future, offering advice on what lay ahead in their studies and in life.
Over these six years of daily companionship, guided by our Chinese teachers who cultivate traditional cultural roots and enriched by the diverse perspectives of our international teachers, you have grown with deep roots in China and a global vision, developing holistically in every way imaginable. During these six years, you have honed yourselves and undergone tremendous growth through a wealth of distinctive activities. You have immersed yourselves in the arts and sports, taken on challenges bravely – through our specialised programmes like golf and winter sports, you have achieved outstanding results in various competitions at all levels. You have been diligent in learning, thoughtful in inquiry, and striven for excellence, winning honours and breaking new ground in international contests such as the Chinese competitions, Kangaroo Maths, and the Spelling Bee.
In many ways the world is better than ever before whilst at the same time being in ever greater peril. We need to ensure we live and breath the vision mission and values on BMH and of the IB learner profile. We must listen carefully, read diligently and take responsibility for ourselves and the contribution we make to our family, friends and communities. As AI weaves its way into our lives we must look after our own agency and ensure we are fully exercising our responsibilities as active, kind, critical thinking citizens.
The ceremony featured speeches from the graduating pupils, who shared their reflections on learning and growth during their primary years. Student representatives spoke of the encouragement they had received from teachers and the companionship of their peers, offering a glimpse into a childhood that had been deeply cherished over the past six years.

The ceremony featured a variety of performances by the pupils, including musical renditions and delightful drama pieces that had the audience both laughing and reflecting. The creativity and talent displayed by our pupils were truly inspiring.
One of the highlights was the heartfelt speeches given by parent representatives, sharing their best wishes to the children and expressing gratitude to teachers and school. Their words were a testament to the strong sense of community and support that has been nurtured throughout their time at BMH.
At school, they gained far more than knowledge. They improved their writing, speaking, reading and thinking skills, and learned to be strong and independent when facing difficulties.

For six years, they had offered quiet encouragement from the audience, backstage, and at the school gate. Today, they once again saw their children off to the next chapter.They chose the song "Blossoms of Farewell," pouring into its melody all their hopes and affection for the children.
Looking back on the past six years, our teachers have been much more than instructors in the classroom. They have knelt down beside children in moments of need, becoming trusted friends that pupils could always rely on. They showed patience to the mischievous, and engaged in meaningful conversations with those who felt lost. Through their words and actions, they gradually taught the children the value of diligence, perseverance, and kindness.
As you move on to your new schools, I wish you every success and happiness. Continue to work hard, be kind to others, and believe in yourselves. We are all so proud of what you have achieved. Congratulations, P6, and best wishes for the exciting journey ahead!
Today, the pupils walked up to their teachers with bouquets in hand, offering a silent reply to all the thanks that had never quite been put into words.
Our Prep 6 pupils impressed everyone with their confidence and poise as they took to the stage to receive their certificates, recognising their achievements, from academic excellence to outstanding postoral development. It was a proud moment for all, as they stood tall in their caps and gowns.
Following the formal proceedings, families and staff enjoyed a lovely light reception with refreshments. The sunny weather added to the festive atmosphere, as everyone captured photos and created lasting memories.
