Intangible Cultural Heritage: Lacquer Fans

Lacquer fans, as the name suggests, are fans made primarily from natural lacquer. Originating in China, they have a long history, with records dating back to the Han Dynasty.

Initially, lacquer fans were mainly used in the ceremonial processions of emperors and nobles, symbolizing power and status. Over time, however, lacquer fans have gradually integrated into everyday life, becoming a unique cultural symbol.

漆扇，顾名思义，是以天然大漆为主要材料制作而成的扇子。它起源于中国，历史悠久，早在汉代便有记载。

There is a saying in Chinese tea history that "Tea thrived in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty," highlighting the significant position of tea-pointing in the history of Chinese tea culture during the Song Dynasty.

Tea-pointing was the method used for tea competitions during the Song Dynasty, and tea enthusiasts also used this method for personal consumption.

It involves grinding tea into fine powder, placing it in a tea bowl, and then pouring boiling water over it. Initially, a small amount of boiling water is poured to create a paste, followed by pouring more water to make the tea, all the while whisking with a tea whisk.
