During the first week of our Summer Camp, we had plenty of fun and joy as the students settled into their classroom and made new friends. The students explored the seven continents and the first country they ‘visited’ was Italy. Through storytelling and some educational games, we discovered many aspects of Italy.

上周，CISK迎来了第一批参加夏令营的小朋友。从探索地球上的七大洲开始，老师和同学从欧洲开始探寻，并把目标钉在了文艺复兴发源地：意大利。整整一周，我们通过故事、游戏和艺术项目学习了有关意大利的有趣事物。

The students made miniature sight word books about some of the things they learned. We read a book about the Leaning Tower of Pisa and made our own papercraft versions of the famous landmark. We learned about the Italian artist Michelangelo and his famous works. The students then 'painted the ceiling' as Michelangelo did in the Sistine Chapel by painting on pieces of paper that had been taped under the tables.

老师带领孩子们制作了他们自己需要的单词本。在读过关于比萨斜塔的书后，孩子们制作了该著名地标的纸模型。在我们了解到意大利艺术家米开朗基罗和他的著名作品 后，孩子们像米开朗基罗在西斯廷教堂所做的那样，把纸贴在桌子下面，在“天花板上”作画。

Finally, we learned to make our own pizzas! The students were excited to learn how to cook this popular Italian dish and enjoyed having a pizza party at the end to taste their creations. 

最后，孩子们还亲手制作了披萨！学生们对学习如何DIY这种广受欢迎的意大利菜肴感到非常兴奋，并在最后举行的披萨派对上品尝了自己的作品。
