On 24th July, students from the Student Council of ISA Wenhua Wuhan School hosted a social and international event to welcome Chinese students from two Chinese schools in the USA and Germany to celebrate the successful completion of their "China Roots Journey" summer camp. This was the first time since the founding of the Student Council that a student-led event was organised.

The Student Council of ISA Wenhua Wuhan played an important role in organising the event. As the event involved many aspects, such as hospitality, guided tours, cultural activities, etc., it required full collaboration amongst the student council members and strict adherence to the plan and timetable for arrangement and organisation. 

In order to meet these challenges, members of the Student Council held discussion meetings on their own, actively communicated and cooperated with teachers and various departments of the school, and made a detailed plan of activities with a clear division of labour in advance.

Chen Haiyi, the president of the Student Council said, "For the Student Council, this is the first important event led by ourselves, we hope to show the international image of our school to the Chinese students and build a platform for friendly exchanges with everyone."

On the day of the event, members of the Student Council arrived at the school early to prepare for the guests. They made sufficient preparations and perfect arrangements, warmly received the visiting students and teachers, introduced the school philosophy and teaching characteristics of ISA Wuhan, and led the overseas Chinese students to visit the school's gymnasium, the theatre, the teaching building, and the library. This gave the visiting students a more intuitive understanding of Wuhan ISA's facilities and resources and allowed them to feel the unique Chinese-foreign integration of the curriculum and campus culture of ISA.

During the visit, the student council members and the Chinese students shared their learning experiences and life feelings with each other, compared the differences in the curriculum content of the same school year in China and abroad, and understood the similarities and differences between different cultures. Such cross-cultural exchanges are not only conducive to students' personal growth and development but also help to promote understanding and integration between different cultures.

During the ceremony, students from ISA Wenhua Wuhan had in-depth communication and interaction with the overseas Chinese students, and they provided a wonderful performance. Vice President Du Qiaoyu said, "We organised the students to prepare programmes, hoping to let the Chinese students feel better about our campus culture and the charm of Chinese traditional culture." She presented a melodious Guzheng song combination, which won the audience's applause.

The students sang and danced together, displayed their talents, and shared their stories and cultures, which not only deepened their friendship with each other but also showed their pride and identification with each other's shared Chinese cultural roots. After the event, the Chinese students expressed how much they enjoyed the event and thanked the members of  ISA Wenhua Wuhan Student Union for bringing them such an unforgettable experience.

This exchange activity not only enhanced the understanding between the students of ISA Wenhua Wuhan School and the Chinese students, leaving each of them with wonderful memories but also demonstrated the charm and diversity of Chinese culture, which helps to promote the inheritance and promotion of Chinese culture overseas. This also helps Chinese students to build a sense of unity and belonging that transcends national boundaries and cultural boundaries. 

Additionally, the event provided an opportunity for the student union members to practice their organisational, leadership, and teamwork skills, proving that they have good organisational skills and teamwork spirit, laying a solid foundation for their future growth and development. We believe that the ISA Wenhua Wuhan Student Union will continue to organise more of these meaningful and exciting activities for more students in the future.
