From the whispering of a Cantonese song to the “One cup, two pieces” lifestyle, this is a microcosm of life in Guangdong.

“月光光,照地堂,虾仔你乖乖训落床。”伴随着耳边的呢喃细语歌谣,到酒楼的“虾饺烧卖叉烧包”,大家开启“一盅两件”的生活。

When the rain drops on the eaves of the arcade, the residents downstairs are comfortably tasting the tea or a bowl of silky double-layer milk. 


Lion dancing in February, Kapok blossoming in April, and Cantonese opera singing in July, these combine the imprints of Lingnan Culture and the important and precious memory, inheritance and continuation of Guangdong citizens.

当落雨的滴答在骑楼屋檐上,楼下的居民正惬意地滴茶或品尝着一碗丝滑的双皮奶。


二月锣鼓喧天、醒狮雄起,四月木棉花开、渲红羊城。七月粤曲悠扬,巧姐成双。


这些充满岭南文化色彩的印记,是一代人的记忆,是一代人的传承,是一代人的延续。

BKIK is located in the CBD area of Guangzhou. It is a kindergarten that cultivates students with an international perspective, which is based on the country as the root and traditional culture as the foundation. 


We hope that children can inherit Chinese traditional culture. At the same time, learn about multiculturalism.

 

At the end of September, teachers and children explore the charm of Lingnan culture together through a series of activities.

汇悦天启幼儿园位于广州的商业中心地带,是一所以培养学生拥有国际视野的幼儿园。我们认为国际视野是建立在以国为根、承传优良传统文化的基础上,我们希望小朋友在传承中国传统文化的同时,认识和拥抱多元文化。

 

在汇悦天启幼儿园的活动中,我们将会配合不同的节庆,举办活动让孩子接触多元文化。


在9月的最后两周和10月初,是祖国的生日。我们以“岭南文化”为主题,从地方文化开始,学校所有的成员与小朋友们一起探索岭南文化的魅力。

Cantonese is an important part of Lingnan’s language and culture. It is one of the seven major dialects in China. In BKIK, trilingual learning has become a daily routine for children.


Children follow Music Teacher Bubble to learn Cantonese rhythms and songs, to feel and appreciate Cantonese in the singing.

粤语是岭南语言文化的重要组成部分,属全国七大方言之一,以其为基础的粤剧是人类非物质文化遗产、粤语讲古是广东省非物质文化遗产。


在汇悦天启幼儿园,学习两文三语已成为小朋友们的生活日常。小朋友跟随音乐老师Bubble老师学习粤语歌谣,在歌声中感受和领略粤语的,快乐歌唱、愉快学习。

In order to allow parents to get to know and understand some of the characteristics of Lingnan Culture with their children, we invite parents to come and participate in a family culture workshop.

为让家长可以与小朋友们一起认识和了解一些岭南文化的特色,我园特邀请家长前往幼儿园,参与亲子文化工作坊。

Combining a wooden window lattice with stained glass has formed a unique feature in Lingnan courtyard windows. Children used colorful brushes and learned the cognition and application of colors.

这种由中式传统木窗棂镶嵌彩色玻璃而成,形成了岭南庭院窗式中别具一格的特色。


小朋友挥动着彩色画笔,学习色彩的认知与运用。

The mask is one of the important ingredients in Cantonese opera. Different masks represent different roles and emotions.


Children are learning the roles and emotions in this cultural carrier while carefully painting the masks with the brushes.

工欲善其事,必先利其器。粤剧固然好听,但表演之前的脸谱同样重要。


不同脸谱代表不同的角色和情绪,小朋友通过手中的画笔,在认真绘画脸谱的同时,也是在学习这种文化载体当中的角色和情绪。

Guangcai originated from Guangzhou Sancai in the Ming Dynasty, which is characterized by brilliant colors, rigorous composition and fine painting.


K2 students conscientiously drew lines, learned composition and added brilliant colors to the white porcelain plate.

广彩始于明代的广州三彩,其特点为色彩绚丽、构图严谨和绘工精细。


K2的小朋友们认真在白色瓷碟上勾画出线条、学习构图并为其添上绚丽的色彩。

The Wok Ear Wall is in the shape of a pot ear, and pays attention to symmetry. It means a bright future and "doing the best".


K3 students used lines to draw different shapes of the wok ear wall.

镬耳墙呈锅耳形,讲究对称,取意前程远大,又寓意“独占鳌头”。作为幼儿园的大哥哥大姐姐,他们用一笔一线,勾画出不同形态的镬耳墙。

We held a cultural carnival to let the children experience different Lingnan cultures today.

在9月30日,我园举办了一场文化游园会,让小朋友们亲身感受不同的岭南文化。

We specially arranged a morning tea instead of breakfast today so that children can experience the morning tea even when they are on campus. And teachers also introduced the culture of morning tea.

在今天的早餐中,我们特意加入早茶的元素,让小朋友们身处校园也能饮上早茶,体验一下“一盅两件”的生活,认识早茶文化。

After that, we got started the performances in MFR. Mr Peter, Mr Alex and Mr Kelvin were the hosts, they used their humorous language to start the wonderful performance. 


Afterwards, we invited different performing artists to the campus to give explanations to the children and put on wonderful performances one after another.

在多功能厅中,Peter老师、Alex老师和Kelvin老师用他们幽默风趣的语言为精彩的表演拉开序幕。


随后,我们邀请到不同的表演艺术家到园,为小朋友们做讲解,并献上一场又一场的精彩表演。

Both of them have a history of thousands of years in China. Children have introduced the history and the difference in timbre of the two by listening to the explanation and appreciating the repertoire.

It was listed on one of the national intangible cultural heritages in 2006. We invited two professional Cantonese Opera teachers who have sung for more than 40 years, to let children listen to this unique Lingnan-style singing.

粤剧在2006年被列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录。


此次请到两位已唱粤剧有40余年的老师前来,让小朋友们一听这独具岭南特色的演唱。

As a branch of traditional Chinese lion dance, the southern lion dance is called "Awakening Lion" because of its striking power. Like Cantonese opera, it was included in the first batch of the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006.


The children also watched this lion awakening performance, which integrates martial arts, dance and music, at close range.

作为中华传统舞狮的一脉,南狮因威武醒目而被称之为“醒狮”,与粤剧一样,在2006年被列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录。


小朋友们此次也近距离观赏了这个融武术、舞蹈和音乐为一体的醒狮表演。

After the performance, the carnival got started. Previously, we have set up stalls with cultural characteristics in different parts of campus, such as the Herbal Tea shop, Rooster Olives, Sugar Paintings, handmade Ancient fans, etc.

表演过后,游园会摊位活动正式开始。此前,我们在全园不同地方设置了带有文化特色的摊位活动,如凉茶铺、鸡公榄、糖画、手工扇等。

The Lingnan Culture Week activities have come to an end. Children, as the most important participants in the activities, are also the inheritors of traditional culture.


With the vigorous development of science and technology nowadays, traditional culture needs to be learned in a subtle way. 


From recognition to experience to understanding, it is a long process that children grow up with. 


We hope the BKIKers can empower culture while learning new things, to become a truly international perspective students!

为期五天的岭南文化周系列活动在欢声笑语和热闹中降下帷幕,小朋友们作为活动最重要的参与者,同时也是传统文化的传承人。


在科技蓬勃发展的今日,希望我们的下一代能够传上启下,在峥嵘熔铸中生生不息、薪火相传,找到自己的方式将中华文化数千年来的沈淀融入入现代生活。小朋友从认识到体验到了解,是一个漫长的过程,是伴随小朋友成长的过程。


我们也希望每一位的天启人,在学习新兴事物的同时,维持探索自己的文化身份,承接创新活水的同时,能为文化赋能;在传承文化的同时,通过自己的亲身体验、经过自己的思考,为文化拂去历史的尘埃,让文化重新“活”起来,成为真正具有国际视野的学生!
