As a culmination of the EY3 first Unit of Inquiry “Who We Are” the students have been learning about their individual characteristics, abilities and interests; and exploring how this influence their personal learning and development. 

本周,爱莎天河中班本学期的第一个探究单元课程——“我们是谁”进入尾声。在此探究单元的学习中,学生们认识到每个人的特征、能力和兴趣,并探索其如何影响他们个人的学习和发展。


Throughout this unit the students participated in many activities: first they decided on their own interests, likes and capabilities by choosing what they like and dislike to do. They investigated the strengths and abilities of their friends. Then finally the students explored how each students’ individual strengths can complement each other in a team setting by working hard during team games such as making jigsaw puzzles together.

在本次探究单元学习中,学生开展了许多相关的活动。他们以概念为驱动,通过实践活动激发学生对主题探究的兴趣并在活动中理解概念。他们通过自己的选择认识自己的兴趣、喜好和能力。学生们也尝试着了解和探索其他同学的特长和能力。在团队拼图游戏中,学生互相了解组员的特长,并探讨如何在团队合作中互补。


The end of this Unit of Inquiry culminated in the students taking action and planning for a picnic for the all the students in the year group. Each EY3 class spent some time thinking about what foods their friends my like to eat, then they voted on what they would like to make for the picnic. The students then spent time making a shopping list for the items they will need and how much these might cost. These simple life skills are important even though we live in an age of WeChat pay and Mei Twan deliveries! As a final step the students spent time during their UOI lessons preparing the food – EY3A made sandwiches, EY3B made fruit skewers and EY3C made banana Teddy bread.

作为本次探究单元的结业性项目,EY3的学生主导举办了一次野餐活动。为了更好地准备野餐,他们尝试去了解和理解同学的对不同食物的喜好,并通过投票的形式确定需要采购的食物,详细地列出购物清单以及需要花费的金额。EY3的学生们亲自动手为野餐准备了三明治、水果串和泰迪吐司。尽管我们生活在一个科技时代,线上购物和线上支付渗透到生活的方方面面,但这些生活技能仍尤为重要。



During the picnic the students had a wonderful time sharing the food they had prepared with their classmates and teaching each other team games to play like lava floor, pass the hula hoop and team relay races.

在野餐期间,学生们互相分享了他们准备的食物,并互相教对方玩熔岩地板、传呼啦圈和团队接力赛等团队游戏,度过了美好的时光。


PICNIC TIME




This was a lovely way for students to end their Unit of Inquiry; it showed how much they had learned the value of working together as a team to achieve their goals in a fun and collaborative manner.

本次探究单元课程以野餐活动画下圆满句号,孩子们从中学会了以有趣的方式进行小组合作,达到学习目标。期待孩子们有更多精彩有趣的探究学习。
