Stability of academic teaching staff is important in any school, it is an indicator of the ‘climate’ of an organisation and low turnover improves staff cohesion and quality outcomes for students because of the consistent approaches to teaching. At YWIES Guangzhou our academic staff are very stable, we have very few staff leaving us at the end of this academic year. This helps with the continuity of learning and the building of our sense of community and the strength of relationships between staff and students. Parents are reassured by our 90%+ staff retention and also our recruitment – it demonstrates the high level of consistency of the education that we offer at YWIES GZ.  Whilst many other international schools are currently struggling to be able to offer full academic programmes with so many foreign staff still overseas and new foreign teachers unable to enter China, at YWIES Guangzhou our teachers are in Guangzhou and are ready to start the 2020-21 academic year with great enthusiasm after the summer vacation of course! We have recruited a small number of excellent new teachers who we believe will enjoy working with our wonderful students.

Our school will welcome back students to start the 2020-21 academic year on August 19th and teachers are busy preparing academic programmes, planning events and extra-curricular activities in readiness for the return of the students next month. Our maintenance teams are busy with updating the campus and installing new equipment.

Dear all,

It is my pleasure to welcome you all back to Yew Wah.I am entering my 6th year here at Yew Wah and I trust that everyone will continue to benefit from the great teachers and teaching & learning that is happening in our school and develop a real joy of learning and exploring. 

Be curious about the world around you!The last year was a difficult year for each and every-one of us, but as a school we have continued to grow and will keep providing excellent learning opportunities to our students.

For you as students it is important to remember that the two main success criteria for Students are attitude and motivation.

Those of you who are prepared to work hard and do their very best, will succeed.

Carefully examine the opportunities on offer to you during this school year and make sure to make the most of it.

Focus on your personal goals and dreams and never stop dreaming.
