Dear UISZ Students, Parents, and colleagues, 

 亲爱的USIZ学生,家长和同事


Our students are heading into the last week of the semester with a feeling of a job well done.  We have a few MAP exams to perform before we wish each other farewell until the new year, and we will also allow some time for outings and celebrations. 


伴随着良好的学习状态,我们的学生即将进入本学期的最后一周,在我们互相道别直到新年之前,我们有一些MAP考试要进行,我们还会留出一些时间去郊游和庆祝。


Oh yes!  We will have a uniform free day this Friday as everyone is invited to come to school in their festive wear 


哦,是的!本周五我们将有一个免穿校服日,因为每个人都被邀请穿着带有节日风格的服装来学校。


Special thanks to our year 4, 5, and 6 students and their chaperones who represented us well these past three days at Cliff Haus in the Yingde area.  We truly enjoyed following you with the pictures you sent.

Merry Christmas from everyone at UISZ - the festive season is getting into full swing now that the school Christmas tree has been erected in the Secondary foyer and wreaths are going up outside classroom doors.

On our Secondary Christmas 'what brings you joy' board which has been placed up outside the Library by Ms Gracie - students have been writing messages of joy and hope for the festive season.  One ambitious student wrote that they hope to receive a +40 score so they can gain a place at UCL in London.  Dreams really can come true at UISZ if you perservere! Gracie.


老师在我们的二年级圣诞节展板上写道“什么带给你快乐”,学生们一直在为节日写下快乐和希望的信息。一位雄心勃勃的学生写道,他们希望获得40+的分数,这样他们就可以入读伦敦的UCL。如果你坚持不懈,梦想真的可以在UISZ实现!

NEWS

This week the corridors of learning at UISZ have been silent with students concentrated hard on completing their end of semester Summatives.  They have all worked so hard since August and now it's crunch time to demonstrate their knowledge and undestanding. Teachers who have been invigilating have noted with satisfaction how studious and hard working all students have been. We wish students all the very best with their Summatives - results will be released on the last week of term.  


本周,UISZ的学习走廊一片寂静,学生们集中精力完成期末总结考试。从8月份开始,他们都非常努力地学习,现在是展示他们的知识和卓越的关键时刻。全程监考的老师都满意地注意到所有学生都是多么勤奋好学。我们祝愿学生们在期末考试中一切顺利——成绩将在学期的最后一周公布。

In year 2, we explored different types of settlements in our current inquiry unit and looked into the settlement of the nomadic. In a STEAM lesson, we had lots fun while we discovered how to made a tepees house! 


在二年级,我们在目前的调查单元中探索了不同类型的定居点,并研究了游牧民族的定居点。在STEAM课程中,当我们发现如何制作帐篷屋时,我们玩得很开心!

Our students are very busy this week. After several days of hard work, they finally completed all the Summative Assessments (SA) of this semester. But as a complete MYP unit, learning is not over yet, because students have to make their own reflections based on the assessment results and the feedback given by teachers. They reflect on the aspects that they are satisfied with this unit and also reflect on the areas that need improvement, as well as on how the SA help them to better understand the learning skills (ATL) of this unit. Students are encouraged to use these reflections in their future learning. 


我们的学生这周很忙。经过几天的努力,他们终于完成了本学期所有的期末总结性评估。但是作为一个完整的MYP单元,学习还没有结束,因为学生必须根据评估结果和老师给出的反馈进行自己的反思。他们反思自己对本单元满意的方面,也反思需要改进的方面,以及反思期末总结考试将如何帮助他们更好地理解本单元的学习技能(ATL)。鼓励学生在未来的学习中运用这些反思。

Y11 and 12 DP Korean students are working very hard to prepare for their Paper 1 summative exams this week. For 90 minutes, they are asked to write a paper with paragraphs analyzing and evaluating the issues and ideas of the text. The paragraphs should demonstrate their knowledge and interpretation of the text with a clear topic sentence and detailed supporting examples. Students can develop their ideas further by getting feedback from their teacher and peers after the exam. It is always pleasant to see my students sharpen their critical thinking while encouraging each other to improve. 


Y11和12 DP韩国学生正在非常努力地为本周的试卷1期末总结考试备考。在90分钟的时间里,他们被要求写一篇带有段落的论文,分析和评估文章的问题和观点。段落应该用一个清晰的主题句和详细的支持例子来展示他们对文本的知识和解释。学生可以通过考试后从老师和同龄人那里获得反馈来进一步发展他们的想法。看到我的学生们在鼓励彼此进步的同时提高他们的批判性思维总是令人愉快的。
