Merry Christmas again from everyone at UISZ.

Last week students in Years 4-6 attended Cliff Haus in Yingde for their annual Week Without Walls outward bound 3 day trip and experienced some challenging and fun activities including rock climbing, cave exploring and tightrope walking.

On Wednesday the Christmas Secondary Assembly was held by Water House. Students who have worked hard this term were awarded certificates of achievement in different categories including Service, Sports and Arts. In addition the Media CCA (rotation 1) students presented an funny '12 Days of Christmas' spoof music video and Mr Justin the Film and Media teacher presented a Christmas music video.

Afterwards a musical chairs competition was held which everyone enjoyed. Mr Sebastien (Head of School) ended the Assembly by wishing everyone a happy Christmas holiday.

MYP 中学项目

The past 2 weeks have been a busy flurry of summative assessments and MAP testing for UISZ MYP. In order to constructively support our students in Years 6-9 with assessment stress we added a scaffolded rest period for the students across their 2 days of MAP testing. A double period of sports to encourage the students to organise themselves in teams, games, and to promote physical activity, for health and mental well-being. A double period of reading to give the students some time to ‘turn-off’ briefly from academics and spend time (device-free) with their noses deep in a book of their choosing. To finalise their achievements the students were rewarded with the latest Marvel instalment to fully rest both body and brain. Our Year 6 students have also used this time to show support for the PYP Year 5 students’ Science Fair, a program that they produced so well last year.

过去的两周是UISZ中学部期末总结考试和MAP测试的繁忙时期。

BOARDING 寄宿项目

Boarding held a Christmas party on Thursday evening with boarders making and decorating gingerbread men in the Canteen followed by hand-making Christmas cards.
