This week the Chair of UEF Board Mrs Dorothy Wong came to the new UISZ campus from Hong Kong - after quarantining - to host the capping ceremony.  A limited selection of parents, teachers and staff were invited to attend this wonderful celebration.

Year 2 and Year 3 students were able to participate in another exciting sports opportunity on Tuesday this week. Students had a chance to "compete" in 100m sprint, long jump, javelin throw, and a relay race! Everyone had a great time learning and cheering each other on as a team!

2 年级和 3 年级的学生可以在本周二参加另一个激动人心的体育活动。 学生有机会“竞争”100米冲刺、跳远、标枪和接力赛！ 每个人都度过了愉快的学习时光，并作为一个团队互相欢呼！

The Year 4 learners successfully delivered a Market Day for their end of unit assessment for “How we organize ourselves”. They were tasked to independently provide a good or service for their local primary community. After overcoming various challenges they demonstrated good resilience, alongside their balanced approach in delivering their products. 

4 年级的学生成功地为“我们如何组织自己”的单元评估结束了“市场交易日”。 他们的任务是为当地的小学部社区独立提供商品或服务。 在克服各种挑战后，他们表现出良好的应变能力，以及在交付产品时采用的平衡方法。

Y6 Science students start the new semester by developing ideas relating to the switch back and forth between the macroscopic and microscopic worlds. Macroscopic refers to objects and substances that can be touched, seen, and measured directly. Microscopic refers to the tiny particles that make up all matter. Through a series of hands-on experiments students prove that carbon dioxide gas is matter, which has mass and takes up space. Skills developed during this time included measuring precisely in standard units and constructing a variety of tables to record measurements.

Y6 科学学生在新学期开始时提出与在宏观和微观世界之间来回切换相关的想法。 宏观是指可以直接触摸、看到和测量的物体和物质。 微观是指构成所有物质的微小粒子。 通过一系列的动手实验，学生们证明二氧化碳气体是物质，它具有质量并占据空间。 在此期间发展的技能包括以标准单位精确测量和构建各种表格来记录测量值。

This is the DP1 TOK class developing their critical thinking on Knowledge and Technology in a co-teaching environment with the collaboration of the ESOL Coordinator.
