Utahloy International School is currently one of the co-organizers of the 2022 World Model United Nations with the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU).

The students are exploring current global issues such as environmental development and economic cooperation. Training has begun preparing students for Model UN conferences initially at the end of this camp but also looking forward to future opportunities.  Outstanding delegates are eligible to be selected to participate in the conference in Beijing. This is a great opportunity for our delegates and they will be expected to represent UISG/UISZ with pride and act appropriately at all times.

2022年8月5日—7日，由教育部中外人文交流中心、北京外国语大学联合主办，外语教学与研究出版社北京外国语大学外研培训中心联合承办的“2022世界青少年模拟联合国大会（广东会议）”于广州誉德莱外籍人员子女学校顺利召开。

来自三十多所学校的莘莘学子共聚一堂，通过联合国大会和其它多边机构的仿真学术模拟，同学们扮演不同国家或政治实体的外交官员，遵循既定的议事规则，围绕国内、国际热点问题召开会议。

他们专心调研，公众演讲，积极辩论，磋商谈判，撰写文件。并最终通过投票表决来推进实际问题的解决。

经过了两天一晚紧张激烈的模联会议，代表们不仅要在会前从代表国角度对议题进行深入调研，还要在会议中利用中、英文进行观点阐述、立场辩论，通过沟通协作，最终提出合理的解决方案，写出具有实践意义的决议草案。主席团也将综合评定出大会过程中表现优异的“国际理解力特别提名”代表，获得参与后续高级别会议的邀请函。

Our mission at Model UN is to help delegates develop their debate and resolution writing skills through our intensive model united nations programme. As part of modelling the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization, we help delegates tackle real-life social, scientific, economical and cultural issues that are happening around the world and further understand our main conference theme of "Building Peace in the Minds of People."

本次世界青少年模拟联合国大会（广东会议）的9大委员会的800多名参会代表共计撰写了45分决议草案，最终15份决议草案经过投票表决成为了正式决议案，成果斐然。

活动现场，不少代表感慨收获颇多，“对国际热点问题有了深刻思考”，“更真实地去感受到了‘世界’”，实现了从“学生到模联外交官的蜕变”。

“外交官在联合国里起到一个非常重要的协调作用，促进达成共识，寻找解决世界性危机的方案。”来自广州增城誉德莱外籍人员子女学校的刘建烨通过本次大会对“外交官”有了更加深刻的理解，他坦言，一名出色的外交官除了要有非凡的口才能力，还应具备出色的人际交往和协调能力，自己以后也将向着这方面努力。

There were Chinese and English committees for both the Primary and Secondary groups. According to the conference process, students need to assign roles as diplomats, understand conference rules, write speeches, and prepare conference documents before participating in the conference.

Outstanding student representatives can obtain "Special Nominations for International Understanding" and receive a reference letter from Beijing Foreign Studies University and invitations to high-level conferences in Beijing.

模拟天下事，联合世上人，他们是优秀的模联人，也是拥抱未来的世界公民。

Model United Nations conference will bring the collision and harvest of thinking, vision, ability and language to the participating students, triggering thinking about the world and the future. At the same time, students participating in the conference will receive an official certificate jointly stamped and issued by the  Ministry of Education, Beijing Foreign Studies University. The leading teachers will receive a supervisor certificate; participating schools and units will receive a Certificate of Excellence.
