IBDP课程被权威公认具有学术挑战性的课程，同时亦是一套完整的教育体系，代表当今最先进的教育理念和实践。IBDP针对高中（11-12年级）阶段的学生，与其他国际课程相比，它具备自身的独特性和辨识度。目前，全球范围有超过4000家的IB世界成员学校。近年来IBDP在国内发展迅速，最新统计数据显示中国已超过120所IB世界成员学校提供IBDP课程。究竟IBDP选课怎么选才能在大学申请中更占优势呢？我们必须先弄清楚IBDP的选课规则。

IBDP课程包括6个学科领域：语言和文学学习、语言习得、个人与社会、科学、数学、艺术。如果要获得DP文凭，学生需要从这六个学科群中各选一门学科进行学习。一般情况下，三门课应选为高难度(HL)，其余三门课则为标准难度(SL)。

IB Diploma Programme is recognized by universities as a challenging academic program. It is considered a complete educational system, representing the most advanced education concepts and practices. IBDP is aimed at students in high school (grades 11-12). There are more than 4000 IB schools worldwide. In recent years, IBDP has developed rapidly in China. The latest statistics show that more than 120 IB schools in China offer the IBDP courses. The IBDP organizes learning through six subject groups, underpinned by the DP core.

Each student at AIC is expected to take three subjects at higher leve and three at standard level.

3月3日，AIC邀请IGCSE 2的家长和学生参加了IBDP课程说明会。会议由IGCSE协调员Donnie Xia和IBDP协调员David Dai主持。会上，David Dai介绍了IB使命宣言、IB Learner Profile、IB文凭课程的优势。随后，家长们与IBDP学科老师会面，了解IBDP课程的详细信息。老师们详尽解答了家长们的疑问。

On March 3, AIC invited parents and students of IGCSE 2 to attend the IBDP course information meeting. The meeting was hosted by Donnie Xia, the IGCSE Coordinator and David Dai, the IBDP Coordinator

At the meeting, David Dai introduced the IB mission statement, the IB Learner Profile, the advantages of the IB diploma program and the IBDP courses. Then, the parents met with the IBDP subject teachers for detailed information of the IBDP courses and answers to their questions.

参与会议的家长和学生们还了解到，全球知名大学更青睐IBDP学生，因为IB理念以及IBDP课程培养学生的学术研究能力和批判性思维。

At the meeting, the parents and students were introduced to the IB mission statement:“IB aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people and encourages them to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners".

The parents and the students also learned that renowned universities worldwide prefer the IBDP students, because of the IB philosophy, IBDP Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and because the IBDP courses develop the students' academic research skills and critical thinking.
