AIC Talks | 剑桥女孩有话说....
本期的AIC Talks「齐物达观」知识讲坛, 我们迎来了第一位学生主讲人，来自DP2的Abby Ding同学。学习IB是一个艰苦的过程, Abby通过自己的勤奋与努力, 广泛的兴趣爱好, 获得了剑桥大学心理学与人类行为专业的录取offer, 香港大学offer以及全额奖学金。她在AIC学习这4年当中即使是面临难题,也能迎刃而解, 并且通过化解难题, 找到了自己未来专业的方向。
The latest AIC Talks was lectured by AIC DP2 student, Abby Ding. IB has never been easy for her, but as a result of her hard work and commitment to her studies, Abby has received offers from the University of Cambridge and from the University of Hong Kong with full scholarship. During the four years at AIC, she has experienced many challenges, and has learnt to solve them.

这4年里，我们互相鼓励，见证了彼此的成长。生活中的她活泼阳光，爱好广泛；学习时的她认真仔细，刨根问底。作为她的好友，我们可以由衷地说她真的很努力。
In the past four years, we have encouraged each other and witnessed each other's growth. She is lively and sunny in life, and has a wide range of hobbies. She studied carefully and thoroughly. As her friend, we can sincerely say that she really works hard and is a balanced student.

正如Abby所说的，每个人都有自己的不完美，但在你求学的路上，会有很多不完美的朋友陪着你一起。
As Abby said, everyone has their own imperfections, but on your way to school, there will be many imperfect friends with you.

Abby在演讲中分享了她成长经历里的一个小故事, 由于容貌焦虑与学习压力导致自己患上了暴食症, 从反复暴食与使用错误的减肥方式, 到开始研究心理学对暴食症的影响, 从而释放了自己的焦虑并对心理学产生了浓厚的兴趣。Abby阅读了大量有关暴食症的研究, 开始以写论文的方式来帮助自己缓解压力。此成果不但夯实了她对专业领域的基础, 也为申请剑桥的路上助一臂之力。
In Abby's speech, she shared a story about her growth experience. She suffered from bulimia nervosa due to her appearance anxiety and learning pressure. From repeated bulimia nervosa and the wrong way of losing weight methods to the beginning of research on the impact of psychology, she became interested in studying psychology. Abby has read a lot of research on bulimia and began to help relieve pressure by writing her own paper. This achievement not only consolidated the foundation of her professional field, but also helped her to successfully apply for University of Cambridge.
Abby's AIC talk was quite enjoyable: it was neatly succinct, without excess, but also maintaining a fine degree of detail and humour. That is why it resonates very well with the audience-it is a story relatable to us all, and gives us a nice rendition of the student experience, with the highs and lows of academic life.
Her tale is another of diligence and passion-one we all applaud to!Congratulations Abby!
