在人间最美四月天,广州暨大港澳子弟学校(ASJ)迎来了小学部的嘉宾讲堂。让学生接触到来自不同领域的专业人士,让探究真正发生,更好地认识世界、拓展视野,为未来的发展做好准备。

G1:节日探究

G1-Festival Exploration

G1在本单元“节日探究”主题中,请来了两组嘉宾Ms Julia和G1学子Akiho父母,分别讲述了复活节和日本节日的历史及文化内涵。


在Ms Julia对复活节的生动讲解中,我们了解到复活节是一个重要的基督教节日,也是一个全家团聚、庆祝生命和春天的节日。G1的同学们学习到复活节的历史和传统庆祝方式,及其文化内涵和象征意义。



同学们在嘉宾的讲解中展示了自己的思考和想象力,提出了各种问题和观点。他们积极参与互动环节,展示了对复活节文化的认知和理解。通过这次嘉宾讲堂,同学们不仅深入了解了复活节的历史和文化内涵,也加深了对传统文化的了解和尊重。



在日本节日文化分享中,Akiho父母向G1的孩子展示了在日本人们如何庆祝新年、儿童节等节日,并分享了一些有趣的文化传统和习俗。在介绍完日本文化后,家长们还和孩子们一起参与了一些有趣的问答活动并互赠礼物。这个活动不仅让孩子们了解了日本节日庆祝,同时也为他们提供了一个愉快的学习体验。



开展嘉宾课堂活动为嘉宾、家长和同学都提供了一个非常好的机会,与师生一起参与学校的多元文化教育中。期待下一次嘉宾讲堂的到来,让我们一起继续学习和探索!


G2:标志与符号的设计与表达

G2-Signs and Symbols


G2同学们本单元正在探究的的主题是Signs and Symbols,围绕第三条探究线索“标志与符号的设计与表达”,我们通过学习者社区的家长资源,请来了Mr.Lam和Ms.Aggie两位资深设计师,为孩子们教授专业设计知识。



两位设计师分享了很多标志与符号设计的案例,与孩子们一起探讨标志与符号设计的相关元素。结合我们学校PYP部即将到来的校运会活动,孩子们纷纷设计起了学校校运会的Logo标志,得到了设计师老师们的专业指导和肯定。


G3:服饰探究

G3-Fashion design


在本单元G3的超学科主题探究“我们如何表达自己”服饰探究活动中,我们邀请到彭竹君的妈妈-佟彤女士来校开展家长课堂,带领孩子们开启了一次服装设计的探究之旅。



服装设计是一个艺术创作的过程,是艺术构思与艺术表达的统一体。竹君妈妈以《一件衣服的诞生》为主题,让孩子了解了布匹变成成衣的过程。当一张张五彩缤纷的色彩图、各种手感的面料、各种名称的款式呈现在向阳花们的面前时,孩子们都惊呆了,原来设计衣服是件这么复杂和奇妙的事!接着孩子们也在竹君妈妈的指导下也开始了服饰设计活动,一个个化身为小服装设计师,体验真正的设计过程。



孩子们在设计过程中,凭借着各自独特的艺术视角与感受,将内心世界的美好愿望,现实的生活体验以及无穷无尽的想象都呈现在了他们的作品上。这不但提升了孩子们的审美能力,还锻炼了孩子们的创造性思维。感谢竹君妈妈支持孩子们能动性发展,积极参与构建学习者社区。愿孩子们插上艺术的翅膀,去遨游更广阔的天地。


G4:广告设计

G4 - Advertising

本单元探究中G4的主题是广告,我们很开心邀请到一位在广告设计领域有着丰富经验的嘉宾,她为我们带来一堂关于创意广告设计的课堂。



嘉宾黄女士给孩子讲述了人们为什么需要有创意的广告设计的,向孩子展示一些有趣的广告,孩子们通过认真观察和分析广告中的元素和信息,了解创意广告的特点。



黄女士还教授了孩子们设计创意广告通常会用到的6个技巧,来了个小测试,孩子们积极参与课堂互动,踊跃举手,通过思考,去猜我们的广告用了哪些创意的手法。通过这堂课,孩子们学到广告设计的本质以及如何创造出有创意的广告,感谢广告设计师黄女士,让我们一起期待下次的嘉宾讲堂吧!


G5:交流

G5 - Communication

G5本单元以“交流”为主题,围绕现代化交流方式开展相关课堂探究活动,中心思想是不同的现代化交流方式为我们提供了新的方式来表达我们的思想、创造性和感觉,探究线索分别是不同的现代化交流方式,我们利用现代化交流方式表达自己,以及我们使用现代化技术时的责任和权利。



随着社会的进步和科技的飞速发展,新的现代化技术和现代化交流方式层出不穷。今天的嘉宾课堂由翟东飞老师主持,围绕人工智能“ChatGPT”,让同学们在了解这门新的现代化技术的同时,通过小组活动让同学们亲自动手操作“ChatGPT”来与其交流对话,并使用“ChatGPT”来解决生活中的实际问题,包括人际交往,日常生活,旅游咨询和提升知识等。



这不仅加深同学们对人工智能“ChatGPT”的理解,使得同学们的眼界和见闻紧跟时代的最新发展,还提高了同学们的协作和实践能力。


G6:中外文化探究

G6 - Exploring Chinese and Foreign Cultures


建筑与艺术


东越设计创始人/设计总监陆守国先生走进课堂,带领G6的学生一起走入建筑与艺术的世界。陆先生带着孩子们一起赏析中外建筑,从建筑的基础结构出发,了解中西建筑设计的不同风格、特点及设计理念。



同学们还了解西班牙建筑大师安东尼奥·高迪—这位大师从大自然获取灵感,大胆的狂想形成了独树一帜的设计风格。通过赏析梵高、莫奈、吴冠中等中外艺术家的建筑绘画,加深对建筑艺术的理解。



陆先生还教同学们一些建筑设计绘画小技巧,如何通过两点透视法画出简单的建筑设计图,同学们进行现场练习。相信这堂课对孩子们来说是视觉的享受,也是艺术的碰撞。也许一堂课改变不了什么,但希望能在孩子们的心目中种下一粒不一样的种子,也许未来会变成参天大树。



英文幽默故事


广州财经大学英语系教授王大维老师,虽已至古稀之年,却依然不减教育热情,为孩子们带来一堂幽默风趣的英文故事课。



这位从教超过40年的老教师既纯朴又不失趣味的课堂风格让孩子们沉浸在语言的魅力中——原来英文这么有趣,原来英文可以这么学。课堂以互动为主,通过幽默的英文小故事充分调动同学们的兴趣,让每个学生都积极的参与其中,互动的过程,同学们积极发挥自己的思考技能和表达技能。



在王老师的鼓励下,同学尝试用英文讲述自己知道的幽默故事,有的同学还现场创造幽默英文小故事,有的同学分享自己名字的由来......语言是一门艺术,言语是思想的衣裳;小小的课堂,大大的能量,希望每个孩子能感知语言的魅力,成为一个善于表达的学习者。

In April, ASJ welcomed guest speakers from the Primary Division. Exposing students to professionals from different fields, making inquiry really happen, better understanding the world, expanding their horizons and preparing them for the future.

G1:节日探究

G1-Festival Exploration

G1 invited two groups of guests, Ms Julia and G1 student Akiho's parents, to talk about the history and culture of Easter and Japanese festivals respectively in this module "Exploring Festivals".


The theme of this guest lecture was "Festival Exploration - Easter", and we invited a special guest Ms Julia to explain the history and cultural connotations of Easter to the students. In the lively lecture by the guest, we learned that Easter is an important Christian festival, as well as a family reunion and celebration of life and spring. We learned about the history and traditional ways of celebrating Easter, as well as the cultural connotations and symbolic meanings of Easter. The students showed their thinking and imagination by presenting various questions and viewpoints during the lecture. They actively participated in the interactive session, demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of Easter culture. Through this guest lecture, the students not only gained a deeper understanding of the history and cultural connotations of Easter, but also deepened their understanding and respect for traditional culture. 



The parent class activity was organized to allow parents to come to school and introduce Japanese festivals and culture to the first-grade children. During the activity, parents showed the children how people in Japan celebrate holidays such as New Year's Day and Children's Day, and shared some interesting cultural traditions and customs. After introducing Japanese culture, parents also participated in some fun Q&A activities with the children and exchanged gifts. This activity not only allowed children to learn about Japanese holiday celebrations, but also provided them with a pleasant learning experience.



Conducting a guest classroom program provides a great opportunity for guests, parents and students alike to participate in the school's multicultural education with teachers and students. We look forward to the next guest lecture, let's continue to learn and explore together!


G2:标志与符号的设计与表达

G2-Signs and Symbols


The students of G2 are exploring the theme of Signs and Symbols. Around the third inquiry clue "the design and expression of symbols and symbols", we invited professional designers,Mr.Lam and Ms.Aggie, two senior designers. Through the parent resources of the learner community, they taught the students professional design knowledge.



The class of parents is full of professionalism, inquiry and interest. The two designers shared many cases of signs and symbol design, and discussed with the children the related elements of signs and symbol s design. In combination with the coming sports meeting of PYP Department in our school, the children have designed the logo for the PYP sports meeting, which has won the professional guidance and the recognition from the designers.



G3:服饰探究

G3-Fashion design


In the G3 UOI class , we invited Ms.Monica who is Christine’s mom to have a parents’ class for children. Fashion design is a process of artistic creation. With the theme of 'The Birth of a piece of clothing', children knew how to make clothes and they were amazed that designing clothes was such a complicated and wonderful thing to do! Then the children also started the dress design activity under the guidance of Ms.Monica, they turned into a little dress designer to experience the real design process.



With their unique artistic perspectives and feelings, the children presented their inner world, real life experiences and endless imaginations in their designs. This not only enhanced the children's aesthetic skills, but also exercised their creative thinking. Thank you to Ms.Monica for supporting the children's agency and actively participating in building a community of learners.We hope the children take on the wings of art and go on to a wider world.


G4:广告设计

G4 - Advertising

The theme for the fourth grade this year is advertising. We invited a guest who has rich experience in advertising design to bring us a class on creative advertising design. Our guest, Ms. Huang, told the children why creative advertising design is needed and showed them some interesting ads. Through careful observation and analysis of the elements and information in the ads, the children learned about the characteristics of creative advertising. 



Ms. Huang also taught the children six techniques that are commonly used in designing creative ads, and gave a small quiz. The children actively participated in the classroom interaction, raised their hands enthusiastically, and through thinking, guessed which creative techniques were used in our ads.Through this class, the children learned about the essence of advertising design and how to create creative ads. We are grateful to Ms. Huang, the advertising designer, and let us look forward to the next guest lecture together!


G5:交流

G5 - Communication

The fifth-grade students focused on the theme of "communication" in this unit, and conducted related classroom explorations around modern communication methods. The central idea is that different modern communication methods provide us with new ways to express our thoughts, creativity, and feelings. The exploration clues are different modern communication methods, how we use modern communication methods to express ourselves, and our responsibilities and rights when using modern technology.



With the progress of society and the rapid development of technology, new modern technologies and communication methods are emerging one after another. Today's guest classroom is hosted by teacher Zhai Dongfei, focusing on artificial intelligence "ChatGPT". Through group activities, students not only learn about this new modern technology, but also get hands-on experience communicating with "ChatGPT" and using it to solve practical problems in their daily lives, including interpersonal communication, daily life, travel consultation, and knowledge enhancement. This not only deepens students' understanding of artificial intelligence "ChatGPT", but also keeps them up to date with the latest developments, and enhances their collaboration and practical skills.


G6:中外文化探究

G6 - Exploring Chinese and Foreign Cultures


Architecture & Art


Mr. Lu Shouguo, the founder/design director of Dongyue Design, walked into the classroom and led the sixth grade students into the world of architecture and art. Mr. Lu led the children to appreciate Chinese and foreign architecture, and started from the basic structure of the building to understand the different styles, characteristics and design concepts of Chinese and Western architectural design. The students also learned about the Spanish architect Antonio Gaudí—this master drew inspiration from nature, and his bold fantasy formed a unique design style. 



Through appreciating and analyzing the architectural paintings of Chinese and foreign artists such as Van Gogh, Monet, Wu Guanzhong, etc., deepen the understanding of architectural art. Mr. Lu also taught the students some architectural design drawing skills, how to draw simple architectural design drawings through two-point perspective, and the students practiced on the spot. I believe this class is a visual enjoyment for the children, as well as a collision of art. Maybe one class can't change anything, but I hope it can plant a different seed in the hearts of the children, and maybe it will become a towering tree in the future. 


English Humorous stories


Mr. Wang Dawei, a professor of the English Department of Guangzhou University of Finance and Economics, has not lost his enthusiasm for education even though he is seventy years old. He brings a humorous English story class to children. This old teacher who has been teaching for more than 40 years has a simple and interesting classroom style, which makes the children immersed in the charm of language.



It turns out that English is so interesting, and it turns out that English can be learned in this way. The whole class is mainly interactive. Through humorous English stories, students' interest is fully aroused, so that every student can actively participate in it.



During the interactive process, students actively develop their thinking skills and expression skills. Encouraged by Teacher Wang, the students tried to tell humorous stories they knew in English. Some students even created humorous English stories on the spot, and some students shared the origin of their names... .Language is an art, speech are the clothes of thought. Small class, big energy. I hope every child can perceive the charm of language and become an expressive learner.
