On 31^st May, Fettes College Guangzhou welcomed a high-profile visiting guest, Rector of Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts (CSVPA) and her team. The visiting team included Karin Askham, Rector of CSVPA; Renee He, China Business Development Director; Dina Wu, China Associate Director, Product & Business Development; Samantha Wang, CSVPA Brand Ambassador, and Rachel Zhuang, China Institutional Partnerships Manager.

During the campus tour, representatives of FCG's teachers and students introduced the school's characteristics to the CSVPA delegation. When Rector Karin saw the Black Box Theatre, 3D design, and fashion design classrooms, her eyes sparkled with admiration. She said that children who study art here are very fortunate because they will enjoy a world-class learning environment in advance. When she visited the artworks designed by the students, Karin was impressed by the creativity and imagination of their work and praised them.

After the visit, Rector Karin accepted an interview. She gave her unique insights and suggestions on the issues that FCG's teachers and students are particularly concerned about, such as "how to develop a comprehensive and effective curriculum for the Art Academy", "how to enhance the educational opportunities for FCG students", and "how will the Art Academy support and prepare them for those aspirations".

When asked for advice for students interested in pursuing visual and performing arts, Karin suggested that, as AI is becoming increasingly widespread, the creative arts field is particularly important. AI cannot replace "creativity", so she recommended that students actively participate in art-related courses, such as art history, colour and composition, and drama performance, and join art groups to participate in various art competitions. At the same time, students can seek professional guidance and support to expand their career direction and understand industry development trends and needs. Students should also pay attention to their diversified development and learn other related skills and knowledge, such as digital media, graphic design and animation production. She believes that the visual and performing arts industry requires students to constantly strive for learning while emphasizing diversified development, communication and cooperation with industry professionals to achieve their career dreams better.
