On 1 June, in order to continue to promote ASJs mission and to provide quality education services, Jinan University, in collaboration with ASJ (Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Foshan), appointed Mr. Tam Yat Yuk as the Academic Viceroy and Honorary Principal of ASJ. The ceremony was successfully held in the Academic Lecture Hall of the Senior High School Building.

谭日旭校长担任香港浸信会永隆中学的创校校长长达19年，并在其母校香港培正中学荣休。其后，谭日旭校长担任林大辉书院的校长，并担任多个教育委员会及机构的主席，是香港教育界杰出的领袖之一。作为首席教育督导和荣誉校长，谭日旭校长将为我们提供包括课程设计、教育教学、师资培训等方面的专业建议，为暨大港澳子弟学校的协同发展提供强大助力。

Mr Tam was the founding School Principal of Hong Kong Baptist Wing Lung Secondary School for 19 years, and retired from his alma mater,  Pui Ching Middle School. Subsequently, Mr Tam served as Principal of Lam Tai Fai College and as Chairman of a number of educational committees and bodies, making him one of the outstanding leaders in Hong Kong's education sector. As the Education Supervisor and Honorary Principal, Mr. Tam will provide us with professional advice on areas including curriculum design, education and teaching, and teacher training, providing a solid boost for the synergistic development of ASJ.

本次聘任仪式由封岩执行校长主持，嘉宾包括香港资深校长谭日旭校长和郭启明校长，暨大港澳子弟学校理事长邓强光、副理事长董旭原，广州暨大港澳子弟学校总校长郑景亮，东莞暨大港澳子弟学校理事陈玉凤、执行理事易丽华，佛山暨大港澳子弟学校（筹）总校长张晔等，我校七十余名教师代表在现场见证了这一重要时刻。郑景亮总校长首先详细地向与会的嘉宾和老师们介绍了谭日旭校长在香港长达四十一年的教育服务履历。郑校鼓励大家珍惜学校提供的平台和机会，向优秀的教育界同仁学习。邓强光理事长正式向谭日旭校长颁发聘书。

The ceremony was hosted by Executive Principal, Ms. Jessica Feng. The guests included Mr. Tam Yat Yuk and Mr. Gwok Kai Ming, senior principals from Hong Kong, Mr. Lucas Deng, Executive Director of ASJ School Board, Mr. Dong Xuyuan, Vice Director of the Board, Mr. Zheng Jingliang, Chief Principal of Guangzhou ASJ， Chen Yufeng, Director and Yi Lihua, Executive Director of Dongguan ASJ、 Zhang Ye, Chief Principal of Foshan ASJ (Prep), and more than 70 teacher representatives from our school were present to witness this important moment. Mr. Cheng first introduced Mr. Tam's 41-year-long educational service history in Hong Kong, and he encouraged everyone to take advantage of the platform provided by the school and learn from their outstanding educational peers. Afterwards, Mr. Deng formally presented Mr. Tam with an appointment letter. 

During the meeting, Mr. Cheng shared his understanding of integrating basic education in the Greater Bay Area. He believed that education carries the country's mission and aims to enable students to understand the meaning of life and enrich their lives while growing into future talents who love the country and have a family and international perspective. This view was highly endorsed by Mr. Tam, who then had an in-depth discussion and exchange with the school management team on promoting educational communication between Guangdong and Hong Kong and the collaborative development of "one gate, three schools". Mr Tam was impressed by our school's teaching philosophy and curriculum design. In the future, he will be deeply involved in the school's management and teaching activities and will use his expertise to empower the school's construction.

At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Deng expressed that the ASJ academic department will keep in mind the schools’vision and mission, and we will work hard to nurture the future talents and builders of the GBA.

He believed that building the first school for Hong Kong and Macao students in the Chinese mainland face many difficulties and challenges. Although the road ahead is difficult, as long as everyone is united and under the guidance of Jinan University, and at the same time, with the addition of Mr. Tam, he believed that we would be able to make ASJ a benchmark project for international education in the future and nurture high-quality talents with international perspectives and family sentiments for the country. 

Furthermore, ASJ also invited Mr. Gwok Kai Ming, a Hong Kong senior principal, to share the English Medium of Instruction (EMI). He took the Ma On Shan Tsung Tsin Secondary School as an example, which has always been committed to creating an English-speaking campus environment. In addition to the English language lesson, the language is also used as the MOI in History, Geography, Science, Physical Education and Art. At the same time, students are able to participate in a wide variety of English activities such as drama day, speech day, and debating competitions. They create an English-rich school campus through lessons and many activities. The teachers at the podium listened attentively to Mr. Gwok's sharing and thought about how they could learn from the good practices of other schools to empower their own classrooms.
