I’m Lucas from grade 7. Life is all about adventure, and adventure is all about experiencing, engaging, and exploring the world around us, both physically and mentally. Being at ISA Wuhan is like being in a dense forest full of things yet to be explored, such as new life-long memories, friends, teachers and so much more. So, I would like to share and say a few things.

First, I would like to acknowledge and deeply appreciate my teachers. Thank you for coaching me, guiding me, and being there for me. Helping me sketch out the details and prominent shapes that are in my life. For, life is like creating artwork. There are stages that perfectly adhere to life. Making it colourful and attractive, before we outline them, which is when all our painstaking work starts to play its part. This stage of life is imperatively important because it decides what shape your life will take, and so guidance and tuition are very needed.

Without all of you, my wonderful teachers, my life would not have some of the colour and shapes it once did not have. So, thank you, all of you for the dedication, the passion, and the kindness that you have so majestically shown. But one teacher, I would like to thank the most. Ms. Jones, my English teacher. I owe an extremely deep debt of gratitude towards you.

You taught me how to express my opinions and thoughts in all different styles of writing, as well as what types of vocabulary and figurative language I should include when the style of writing to me is in a whole new ball game. Apart from that you also helped me comb my sentences into clear and straight strands of hair, making them more concise and succinct.

The next thing I would like to share is a memory that I will never ever forget, yes sir, never ever, something a lot less grim than what I shared before. So, think of the last term, all of you. What do you remember? Online learning no doubt. Well for you, it may be a few, couple of weeks, but I, stayed for longer a time, which was like a few many couple of weeks, but never mind that. It is not the most succulent part.

So, because I was at home and not at school, the other teachers and students kept saying ‘I hope you’ll be back next week’, or asking, ‘when I’ll be back’, which was AWKWARD to say the least. So, every time, I was thinking: ‘how am I gonna get my way out of this situation……?’. But now, I have stepped out of my house of monotony and forlornness, into a much happier and more exciting world, which I intend to stay, to say the least.

Finally, I would like to talk a bit about friends and friendship and what it has brought to my life at ISA Wuhan. From the start, I found that ISA was a very caring and kind community, with all different people of a variety of opinions. This helped me make friends, and mark my word, they were very solid ones. These solid friendships helped me diversify my opinions which in its way made me into a less dogmatic person, helped me make lasting memories, and helped me improve.

The improving part I will elaborate a bit further. These friendships helped me get inspired and motivated to do things I never thought of before but are ultimately beneficial. For example, because of my friendships, I was inspired and motivated to try to improve on the very-very-very-important-ignoring-distractions-ability, which turned out to be successful and ultimately beneficial. So, let us all be grateful to all our friends; because they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
