童绘世界梦！

为庆祝“一带一路”倡议提出十周年,让共建“一带一路”国家、地区与广东发展的故事广泛传播，广东省青年联合会与南方报业传媒集团组织“我的家在‘一带一路’上”无国界儿童共绘长卷活动。活动邀请共建“一带一路”国家在穗儿童绘画他们的家乡,并将画作在广州市第二少年宫展出。

2023年10月11日上午在广州市第二少年宫由广东省青年联合会、南方报业传媒集团主办，GDToday、广州市少年宫承办的《我的家在“一带一路”上》无国界儿童画展中，华美英语实验学校小学部、普通中学与国际高中8个国家的学生贡献了14幅作品参与了展览，其中Sophia和王可宁同学作为学生代表，通过艺术作品自信大胆的向各界人士分享和介绍自己家乡的风土人情，展现出对自己国家浓浓的热爱之情以及文化交融带来的独到眼光。

这样的华美，本身就很美

华美GIC融创初中彭鑫鹭老师指导同学们参加了本次画展，引导这些来自各个国家的学生们回忆自己家乡的魅力之处。

华美学子们用细腻的彩色铅笔一点点的描绘其家乡的特色元素和内容，表达对家乡的热爱和在中国学习期间的文化交融的感受。

来自泰国的王可宁同学在介绍她的作品时说：“我画了寺庙、嘟嘟车、泰国地图等一些能够代表泰国的元素，希望可以通过自己的画来展现家乡的魅力，让更多的人了解泰国。”

另一位同学是来自纳米比亚的Sophia同学对于两国的文化都有深刻的了解，Sophia同学尤其喜欢龙，在画作中她把中国的龙和竹子，与纳米比亚的石油钻井平台、火烈鸟、跳羚和沙漠画在了一起。落落大方的介绍自己的作品，脸上都是开心俏皮的笑容。

在开幕礼上，欧冬红副校长代表展览学校进行讲话：“作为广州的一所国际学校，我们见证并经历了‘一带一路’倡议十年来带来的变化。越来越多共建‘一带一路’国家孩子来到中英文双语的国际学校学习汉语和中国文化，希望结交中国朋友，我们同时也很高兴看到这些国际学生把多元文化带进校园，中国师生也能从这种文化交融中受益，这样的校园本身就很美。”

华美英语实验学校的国际生们，以优秀的绘画作品参与本次儿童画展，通过艺术作品的力量，向大家自信地分享和介绍家乡的风土人情。借此也可以感受和了解“一带一路”不同国家的文化，学会用欣赏、互鉴、共享的眼光看待世界，增进相互理解，促进民心相通，相信他们也将会在未来的每一次成长中，用中国心，世界眼去看待世界的每一次变化，成为一个具有全球视野的复合型精英。

Innovation and technological success are key to students being future international leaders.  Not only do we offer technology classes with real-world benefits, but some of our classes offer an online component as well.  Our students are able to access the class library or articles and books used in class, they can submit homework, ask the teacher important questions and stay up to date with any specific class information though our classes that offer a dual in-class + online syllabus.  Students are able to immediately see test and exam scores, access review information and minimize the use of carrying around so many text books all while learning and adapting to living in a modern, tech-enabled world. 

阅读是学生大脑健康发展的基础。ISD很自豪地提供每周阅读计划，并将其整合到语言课程中。这个项目鼓励孩子们用他们正在学习的任何一种目标语言来阅读他们想读的东西，它培养了一种领导意识，因为每周都会选出一名学生领袖作为组长。该项目还提供了可供选择的时间，学生可以选择自己喜欢的任何书，每个人都可以安静地独立阅读，同时分享共同的阅读体验。这个项目给我们的学生带来的另一个好处是一种主人翁感和责任感。学生们负责选择、借阅、保管并最终把书还给图书馆。阅读有无数的好处，比如发展和加强读写能力，积累词汇，激发好奇心，提高注意力，培养同理心，锻炼我们的大脑，增加信心和阅读速度，帮助培养更好的专注力，还有很多其他的好处，但最重要的是——阅读很有趣!

Reading is fundamental in the healthy development of a child’s brain.  ISD is proud to offer a weekly reading program that is integrated into the language curriculum.  This program encourages kids to read what they want in any of the target languages they are learning and it develops a sense of leadership as 1 student leader is chosen weekly to be the narrator.  The program also offers choice time wherein students can choose any book of their liking and each read quietly and independently of each other, all while sharing a common experience of reading.  Another great benefit this program offers our students is a sense of ownership and responsibility.  Students are in charge of choosing, checking-out, taking care of, and ultimately returning books to the library.  There are countless benefits to reading such as developing and strengthening literacy, building vocabulary, stimulating curiosity, improving concentration, develop a sense of empathy, provides exercise to our brain, increases confidence and reading speed, helps develop better focus, amongst many other great benefits, but most importantly – Reading is FUN!

Our students and teachers take a lot of pride in being Global Citizens and good members of the community.  At ISD we offer a year-round volunteer program for our students.  Our program offers a plethora of diverse volunteer opportunities from providing mentorship to kindergarten students, learning professional skills by performing an assistant role and giving back to the community by participating in organized community-wide events like park clean-up, tree planting and much more!   We offer a robust program that provides a certificate with volunteer hours earned each semester.  Our students and teachers have embraced the culture of being an example of a model global citizen by taking charge and giving back to the community and the world that we all live in and love!

我们的学生有一个24小时的宿舍老师，随时可以帮助他们，他们的首要任务是安全和舒适的生活在校园。学生的生活体验包括与来自自己教室的同龄学生共享一间宿舍，因此与新朋友的亲密体验是一种自然而有趣的体验。  

学生们可以在学生食堂吃到各种各样的食物，包括三顿一日三餐(早餐、午餐和晚餐)，以及一顿课间小食(牛奶、奶茶、冰淇淋或酸奶)和一顿传统的中国夜宵，即晚饭后的小餐。 

在ISD，我们努力为学生提供有趣的活动，如游戏，生日和节日的庆祝活动。我们全家欢聚一堂，共同庆祝，创造一生难忘的回忆，这些回忆将在未来的岁月中珍藏。

Our beautiful campus offers a lot of fun and exciting activities outside of the classroom.  While living at Huamei International School, our students have access to a student work-out gym, a giant sports field, an indoor basketball court, an Olympic swimming pool, tennis courts, playgrounds and many other fun amenities all safely located within our school campus.  

Our students have a round-the-clock dormitory teacher that is always available to help them and whose main priority is their safety and comfort while living on campus.  The student living experience is comprised of a shared dormitory room with students from their own classroom around their same age so that the bonding experience with new friends is a natural and fun one.  

Students have access to a wide variety of foods in the student cafeteria which includes 3 daily meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) as well as a recess snack (Milk, milktea, ice cream or yogurt) and a traditional Chinese nighttime snack which a small dinner after dinner time.  

At ISD we strive to provide engaging activities as well for students such as games and celebrations of birthdays and holidays.  We come together as a family and celebrate to create life-long memories that will be cherished for years to come.
