The first ICU Cheerleading World Cup Competition was held from 6 to 8 October 2023 in Seoul, South Korea. Nearly 100 teams from more than 20 countries and regions participated in this cheerleading event of the highest level in the world. Michelle Huang, a Grade 10 student from ISASC, was part of the Chinese team that won the Youth Coed Median Championship, the first time a Chinese team has won the championship in the same type of international event, through three days, three games, and more than 80 teams competing on the same stage. This is also the first time for the Chinese team to win the championship in the same type of international competition, which is a historic moment worth remembering.

2023年10月6日至8日，第一届ICU啦啦操世界杯大赛在韩国首尔落下帷幕。来自20多个国家和地区的近百支队伍参加了这项全球最高水平的啦啦操赛事。来自广州科学城爱莎外籍人员子女学校十年级的学生Michelle Huang所在的中国代表队，通过三天、三场，与超80支队伍同台竞技的激烈角逐，凭借有目共睹的出色表现，夺得了少年组（Youth Coed Median）冠军，这也是中国代表队在同类型的国际赛事中首次获得冠军，是值得纪念的历史性时刻。

ABOUT 关于比赛

ICU is the only international federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee to manage the world cheerleading sport. ICU organises the Cheerleading World Cup every two years, which is the highest level of cheerleading competitions in the world, and this is the first World Cup competition for clubs organised by ICU in Seoul, Korea.

ICU国际啦啦操联合会是国际奥委会唯一认可的管理世界啦啦操运动的国际单项联盟，ICU每两年举办一次啦啦操世界杯大赛，是全球最高水平的啦啦操赛事，本次赛事是由 ICU 国际啦啦操联合会在韩国首尔，首次举办的针对俱乐部的世界杯比赛。

We learnt that Michelle had gone through a series of intense preparations for the competition, including team selection and intense training, etc. In addition to her excellent cheerleading skills and performance ability, she also has strong psychological qualities and resilience.

学校了解到，为准备此次比赛，Michelle经历了一系列紧张的准备工作，包括队员选拔以及暑假期间高强度的集训，中间还经历了腰椎紊乱伤痛的煎熬，边做康复边训练、咬牙坚持到比赛结束。不得不说，除了具备出色啦啦操技巧以及表演能力外，Michelle自身强大心理素质和应变能力，以及一丝不苟、勇攀高峰的坚韧精神，也带领她不断成为更优秀的自己。

Michelle, as the first founding student of ISA Science City, has been actively participating in various activities and events organised by the school since she joined in the school in 2020. She has been awarded the 1st Runner-up in Chinese Brush Calligraphy at the 2nd International Chinese Language Festival, the Champion of the Young Thespian Festival Musical Theatre, the Gold Medal in Master Mind Maths Thinking Competition at SIMOC 2022, and the Silver Medal in Minds Sports Quiz Challenge. Meanwhile, despite her intense academic schedule and cheerleading training, she continued to train and compete in the volleyball team at the beginning of this academic year, as a member of the school's girls' volleyball team, she won second place in the recently concluded GISSA Cup, and was also awarded the title of Best Player out of 96 participants (only 12). In Michelle, we see the perseverance of ISASC students to strive for excellence and constantly surpass themselves, epitomising the sportsmanship of the school community.

Michelle作为爱莎科学城学校首届创校生，自2020年入学起，一直积极参与学校组织的各类活动和赛事，曾获第二届国际汉语节毛笔字书法（Chinese Brush Calligraphy）亚军（1st Runner-up）、2022年全国青少年戏剧节音乐团团体剧冠军、2022年SIMOC（新加坡国际数学挑战赛）Master Mind数学思维竞赛金奖、Minds Sports智力挑战赛银奖…… 与此同时，尽管在紧张的学业和啦啦操集训之下，本学年开始时，Michelle还坚持进行排球队的训练与比赛，在刚刚结束不久的GISSA Cup上，作为学校女子排球队一员，为学校争得第二名的好成绩，同时也在96名参赛选手中荣获最佳球员称号（仅12名）。我们在Michelle身上，看到了爱莎学子精益求精、不断超越自我的毅力，是爱莎团体体育精神的缩影。
