King's College London (King's or KCL) is one of the founding colleges of the University of London and is the fourth oldest university in England. It was established in 1829 by King George IV and Prime Minister the Duke of Wellington, receiving its royal charter in the same year. According to the year of the royal charter, King's is the third oldest institution in England (University College London received its royal charter in 1836), but the university claims to be the fourth oldest. As of 2020, the college has produced 14 Nobel Prize laureates, 1 Turing Award winner, 3 Oscars, 3 Grammy Awards, and 1 Emmy Award among its alumni and faculty.

In the academic year 2021-22, King's College London was ranked 33rd in the U.S. News World University Rankings, 37th in the QS World University Rankings, 35th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and 40th in the CWUR World University Rankings.

The Faculty of Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences at King's College London was established in 2010 through the reorganization of the School of Physical Sciences and Engineering. The faculty offers education in chemistry, informatics, physics, mathematics, and telecommunications sciences, engaging in research in these fields. As early as 1829-30, King's College was already involved in research related to physics and mathematics, and to date, six Nobel laureates have studied or worked in the Faculty of Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences.
