Inquiry Project Presentation | I-EP七、八年级体育专题探究项目展示

In I-EP, we not only focuses on the education of Chinese traditional culture, but also contributes to helping our students broaden the horizons as well as enriching their multicultural experiences. Thus, in the last inquiry unit of this semester, teachers of I-EP MYP have integrated national and international sports into inquiry curriculum, guiding children to question, explore and share, which enables them to be more open-minded towards cultural differences.


After a long period of study, on January 5, 2024, the MYP G7 & G8 Sports Inquiry Exhibition was held at the Show Theater. Children from different backgrounds gathered together and brought us an unprecedented feast of sports, showcasing their talents, abilities and the spirit of teamwork.


在I-EP,我们既聚焦中华优秀传统文化的教育,同时也致力于扩宽孩子们的国际视野,丰富他们的多元文化经验。对此,在本学期最后一个探究单元,I-EP MYP的老师们将国内外体育运动项目融入到了探究课程当中,引导学生对国内外不同的运动项目进行了解、研究与分享,从而让孩子们能以更开放的心态对待文化差异。


经过连日来的探究学习,2024年1月5日,倍受瞩目的MYP七、八年级体育专题探究展在秀丽剧院隆重举行。有着不同成长背景的孩子们齐聚一堂,为大家带来了一场前所未有的体育盛宴,尽显他们的才华、能力和团队协作精神。

七年级:中国传统体育探究

G7 Chinese Traditional Sports Inquiry

In this Inquiry project, MYP G7 students delved deeply into traditional Chinese sports. They were divided into ten groups and conducted series of study on ten sports including Kungfu, Nuo Wu, Tai Chi, Archery, Cuju, Shuttlecock, Stilt Racing, Board Racing, Bamboo Dance, as well as Sword Dance. Based on the global context of "personal and cultural expression", this inquiry was a fascinating and inspiring learning journey that encouraged students to understand and reflect the cultural connotations of traditional Chinese sports.

在本次探究中,MYP七年级学生深入探究了中国传统体育。他们分成了十个小组,对功夫、傩舞、太极、射箭、蹴鞠、踢毽子、高跷、板鞋竞速竹竿舞和舞剑这十大体育项目进行了一系列的研究与学习。此次探究以个人与文化表达为全球背景,鼓励学生对中国传统体育中的文化内涵进行解读与思考,是一次引人入胜、启迪人心的学习之旅。

Guided by the IB learner profile of being the knowledgable risk-takers, our students has put great effort into this inquiry project. They have diligently researched and organized a large amount of materials, meticulously prepared the informative display boards, as well as elaborately planned their presentations. In order to convey the history, evolution, rules, techniques and culture of their chosen sports to the audiences, children were adorned in vibrant costumes and performed the wonderful drama, which pushed the atmosphere to the climax.

IB鼓励学生成为敢于挑战知识渊博学习者,在这一理念的指导下,学生们在本次探究项目中付出了极大的努力他们孜孜不倦地查阅整理了大量的文献资料,精心准备了干货满满的信息展板、还用心策划了他们的展示环节。为了能将所选运动项目的历史演变、规则技巧文化内涵更好传达给观众,孩子们穿上了各式各样的服装,上演了精彩绝伦的戏剧表演,将现场气氛推向了高潮。



The Sword Dance group, Stilt Racing group, and Board Racing group were distinguished from others for their exceptional performances. The dynamic choreography of Sword Dance group, the thrilling heights reached in Stilt Racing group, and the exhilarating speed of Board Racing group left a lasting impression on the audience.

舞剑、高跷和板鞋竞速小组因其出色的表现而脱颖而出。舞剑组的动感编排,高跷组中的惊险高度,以及板鞋竞速组中令人振奋的速度都给观众们留下了深刻的印象。



The project unfolded not only in the confines of the Physical Education class where students honed their skills but also in dedicated inquiry classes where they delved into the historical and cultural aspects of their chosen sports. The culmination of their efforts have showcased their ability to communicate the essence of Chinese traditional sports through the drama, utilizing informative boards to share the intricate details of each sport. We are so proud of them.

学生们不仅在体育课上了解自己所选的体育项目,还在专门的探究课上深入研究了项目的历史和文化。最终的呈现效果是令人惊叹的,通过信息板展示和戏剧表演,他们很好地传达了中国传统运动的精髓以及自己对传统体育文化的思考,我们为他们感到骄傲和自豪。

八年级:国际体育探究

G8 International Sports Inquiry

Based on the theme of international sports, in this year, the G8 Sports Inquiry Exhibition havetaken "personal and cultural expression" as the global context, aimed to promote sport exchange and co-operation globally, and allow students to learn different traditions and customs of sports from different countries. By sharing, they were inspired and able to learned from each othermaking I-EP become more active, united, respectful and harmonious.

今年八年级体育专题探究展以国际体育项目为研究对象,以“个人与文化的表达”为全球背景,旨在促进全球范围内的运动交流与合作让参与者们互相了解不同国家和文化之间的体育传统和习惯。通过分享彼此探究成果孩子互相鼓励、学习和成长,共同建立一个更加团结和互相尊重的I-EP国际体育社区。

Focusing on the obejects of the Skateboarding, Boxing, Fencing, Hockey, Golf and Table Tennis, G8 children have worked in small groups for seven weeks. During these seven weeks, they not only enthusiastically collected, researched and organized a large amount of media materials, created different beautiful exhibition boards, but also studied the sports that they chosen, the meticulous inquiry spirit of the children was very touching.

滑板、自由搏击、击剑、曲棍球、高尔夫和乒乓球八年级的孩子围绕不同的体育运动项目以小组为单位开展了为期七周的学习之旅。在这七周里,他们不仅充满热情地收集查证、整理了大量的媒体资料,制作了各式各样的精美展板,还认真学习了所研究的运动项目,孩子们一丝不苟的探索精神让人感动。

During the presentation part, our students have demonstrated the history and culture of each international sports, introduced the spirit behind the sports and the evolution of the culture it represents over time by the means of drama, speech, picture showing and on-site teaching.

在展示环节,学生们通过戏剧、演讲、连环画册、现场教学等方式,向我们展现了各项国际运动的历史文化,人们寄托在该运动中的精神信仰以及随着时间的流逝,该运动所代表的文化所出现的演变等内容



The exciting speeches and the technical shows allowed the audiences to appreciate the cross-border passion of these popular international sports as well as the spirit of resilience and enthusiasm that individuals infuse into its. The students utilized sport as a means to explore personal and cultural expression, to contemplate the significance of sports, and to establish goals for self-improvement.

精彩纷呈的主题演讲和技术展示,观众们领略到了跨国界的运动激情以及在运动背后所寄托的抗争精神和美好愿望同学们以体育运动为媒介,探究个人与文化的表达,思考运动带给人们的意义,寻找自我发展的目标。



This MYP G7 & G8 Sports Inquiry Exhibition was a great success. Through such an inquiry course, students not only gain new knowledge, but their independent learning skills are enhanced as they communicate, co-ordinate and reflect with their tutors and group members. These will greatly benefit them in coping with various academic challenges in their future. Our I-EP inquiry programme will continue to evolve with the times and be crafted to help children achieve in-depth understanding of both Chinese culture and global culture, helping them discover more possibilities for their future development!


本次MYP七、八年级体育专题探究展取得了巨大的成功。通过这样的探究课程,学生不仅学到了知识,他们的自主学习能力在与指导老师和小组成员的沟通、协调和反思的过程中也得到了提升。这些将会极大有利于他们应对未来学术上的各种挑战。与时俱进、精心打造,I-EP探究课程将继续帮助孩子们立足中国,放眼世界,将全球文化融会贯通,让学生们找到未来发展的更多可能!
