喜讯 | ASJ中学部学子在2023年BPhO和2024年IPC&SPC Online获得佳绩
近日，广州暨大港澳子弟学校（ASJ）中学部学生在2023年英国物理奥赛BPhO和2024年英国中高级物理IPC&SPC Online中表现优异，共获得6项荣誉认证。
英国物理奥林匹克竞赛始于1979 年，1983 年正式为英国选拔国家代表队参与国际物理测评。英国物理奥林匹克British Physics Olympiad（BPhO）组委会主要由牛津大学、英国物理学会和Odgen 基金会组成，办公室设在牛津大学物理系。
英国物理奥赛非常注重物理知识的灵活运用，全部的试题为证明题。同学们需要运用自己所学物理知识完成挑战，其涉及的知识点非常广泛，活动不要求同学们完成所有试题，而是鼓励同学们根据自己兴趣和学习范围选择完成自己擅长的部分。
通过该系列活动，中国与英国学生将有机会同台竞技，统一考试，试卷送往牛津大学物理系统一评分，同等争取全球金银铜牌。
英国物理测评中&高级(Intermediate & Senior Physics Challenge Online) 也是由英国物理奥林匹克活动组委会主办。题型新颖，在试题中将基本的物理原理与生活联系在一起，旨在拓展学生的横向思维能力，激发学生的物理潜能，是一项极具挑战性的活动。
英国物理测评(IPC&SPC Online) 考察内容主要是关于物理学，但也鼓励一些更广泛的物理知识扩展以激起对物理的兴趣。本活动为学生创造一个参加全国性物理测评活动的机会，并培养他们对该学科的信心。此活动不仅仅是面向在物理学习方面非常优秀的学生，而是针对所有对物理学习有兴趣并在物理学上有所发展的学生。
参加物理竞赛对我来说即是挑战，也是提升自己，增长见识的机会。在短时间内掌握大量的知识内容，将新学到的内容迅速运用到题目当中，这是平时的课堂很难体会到的。同时，作为一种对知识的拓展活动，物理竞赛毫无疑问给我带来了更多丰富有趣的物理知识内容，真是让人欲罢不能。
对于这次获奖，既有惊喜，也有收获。
在学期刚开始时，为了能够获得更多物理奖项以及拓展知识，我参加了物理竞赛社团。社团人虽少，但老师认真教学，常常到了下课时间仍坚持把知识点讲完才下课，且非常关注我们的竞赛情况，这使我提升很大。
比赛过程较为顺利，但也遇到了不会的题，我保持了良好的心态，坚持完成比赛。果然，成绩没有辜负我的努力，我成功获得了金奖。
通过比赛，我收获的不仅是奖状，还有更多超前的物理知识以及自信。
比赛中总有读不懂的单词与没了解过的事迹，放平心态就行，自己看不懂的别人也不一定能看懂，自己没了解的别人也不一定有所了解。做好日常的积累，做好学习的安排，就是最好的方式。车到山前必有路，船到桥头自然直。
我们从去年9月份新组建的竞赛小组，第一年参加BPhO竞赛，是颇具有挑战性的。准备BPhO Round 1只有两个月的时间，学生不仅要快速适应英文题目，还要补上很多知识面，尤其是Section2的长问题，题目可能来自于物理研究中需要考虑清楚的一些情景，逐层深入。因此除了每周二的ECA课堂，我也鼓励参赛学生另外找时间多做真题演练，集中讨论，拓展思维宽度。BPhO IPC&SPC的题目侧重知识面，考察学生的日常积累。总的来说，本年度参加BPhO的收获颇丰，我对学生很有信心，希望在新的学期继续努力，为下一轮的竞赛作充足的准备。

The British Physics Olympiad (BPhO) began in 1979 and was officially launched in 1983 as a means of selecting a national team for the UK to compete in international physics competitions.The BPhO organising committee consists mainly of the University of Oxford, the British Institute of Physics and the Odgen Foundation, with an office in the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford.
BPhO places great emphasis on the flexible application of physics knowledge and all the questions are proof questions. Students need to use their own knowledge of physics to complete the challenge, which involves a wide range of knowledge, the event does not require students to complete all the questions, but to encourage students to choose to complete their own interests and scope of learning to complete their own speciality part.
Through this series of events, Chinese and British students will have the opportunity to compete on the same stage, take a unified exam, have their papers sent to the Physics Department at Oxford University for unified grading, and compete equally for global gold, silver and bronze medals.
Intermediate & Senior Physics Challenge Online is also organised by the UK Physics Olympiad Organising Committee. It is a challenging event with innovative questions that relate basic physics principles to life, aiming to expand students' lateral thinking skills and stimulate their potential in physics.
The IPC&SPC Online examination is primarily about Physics, but some wider extensions of Physics knowledge are encouraged to stimulate an interest in Physics. This programme creates an opportunity for students to take part in a nationally assessed physics event and develop their confidence in the subject. This programme is not just for students who are very good at Physics, but for all students who are interested in learning Physics and developing their skills in the subject.
Participating in the Physics Competition is a challenge for me, but also an opportunity to improve myself and increase my knowledge. It is difficult to grasp a large amount of knowledge in a short period of time, and it is hard to apply the newly learnt content to the topics quickly, which is something you can hardly experience in a normal classroom. At the same time, as a kind of knowledge expansion activity, the Physics Competition has undoubtedly brought me more rich and interesting physics knowledge, and I can't stop thinking about it.
There were both surprises and rewards for this award.At the beginning of the semester, I joined the Physics Competition Club in order to get more physics awards and expand my knowledge. Although there were few people in the club, the teachers were serious about teaching, often insisted on finishing the knowledge points before class ended, and paid great attention to our competitions, which made me improve a lot.
The competition went smoother, but I also encountered questions I didn't know. I kept a good mindset and insisted on finishing the competition. Sure enough, the results did not disappoint my efforts and I managed to win the gold medal.
Through the competition, I gained not only the award, but also more advanced knowledge of physics as well as self-confidence.
There are always words you can't read and deeds you don't know, just relax your mind, what you can't read others may not be able to read, and what you don't know others may not be able to understand. Do a good job of daily accumulation, good learning arrangements, is the best way. The car will go through the night, the boat will go straight naturally.
We are a newly formed competition team from last September, and it is quite challenging to participate in the BPhO competition for the first year. With only two months to prepare for BPhO Round 1, students not only had to adapt to the English questions quickly, but also had to catch up on a lot of knowledge, especially the long questions in Section 2, which may come from some scenarios that need to be considered clearly in physics research, layer by layer. Therefore, in addition to the ECA class on Tuesdays, I also encouraged the students to find additional time to do more exercises, focus on discussion, and expand the breadth of thinking.The questions in the BPhO IPC&SPC focus on knowledge, and examine the students' daily accumulation. Overall, this year's participation in the BPhO has been very rewarding and I have great confidence in my students. I hope that they will continue to work hard in the new semester to prepare for the next round of the competition.
