小学部|家校共建IB课程,PYP“嘉宾讲堂”开始啦!

北京冬奥刚刚结束,我们目睹了燃情冰雪的冬奥画卷,气象万千的中国图景,超越自我的奥运精神。但有没有人注意到,冬奥开幕式领导人桌前的这个小工具是什么呢?

2022 Beijing Winter Olympics has just come to an end. It presented us with a burning passion for ice and snow, a magnificent and glorious picture of China, and the great Olympic spirit of transcending ourselves. But has anyone noticed what is this gadget on the desk in front of leaders at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics?

    这个就是我们学校6年级同学由卢卓言爸爸卢运成先生参与设计研发的迷你多用台灯,这个发明不仅获得了中国国际照明灯具设计大赛功能技术类一等奖,同时也走入了冬奥会的演播台,向全世界展示了中国制造的实力。


This is the Mini Multi-purpose Lamp designed and developed by Mr. Lu Yuncheng, ASJ sixth grade student Lu Zhuoyan's father. This invention not only won the first prize in Functional Technology category of China International Lighting Design Awards, but also debuted at 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, showing the power of “Made in China” to the world.





小设计,大创新


    今天,这项发明的设计者卢运成先生走进了校园,为孩子们带来了题为“小设计,大创新”的精彩讲座。讲者用生动活泼的科技发明创造再一次印证了孩子们在我校6年级本学期第四个研究单元的学习主题—科技给人们的力量!


Today, Mr. Lu, the designer of this invention, walked into ASJ campus and gave the children a wonderful lecture entitled "Small Design, Big Innovation". With a series of lively demonstration of invention, his lecture reflected once again the learning themes of the four units of UOI in ASJ ------ the power sci-tech brings to people.



 

    卢先生介绍了自己公司研发的多项设计,围绕“美观、好用、易用、安全、实用、关爱”这六个设计特点,例如“旋转式计时器”、“自发电电子称”等,这些设计获得过多项国际国内设计大奖。学生们与卢先生积极互动,踊跃发言,在游戏中交流、合作,在问答中思考、探索。Lisa老师在卢先生介绍的同时,引导孩子们思考“物质性质和能量转换的相关知识”如何在这些设计中得到运用。


Focusing on six design features of "beauty, efficacy, simplicity, safety, practicality and humanistic care", Mr. Lu introduced a number of designs developed by his company, such as “rotating timer” and “spontaneous electrical scale”, which acquire a number of design prizes home and abroad. The students spoke up and actively interacted with Mr. Lu. They communicated and collaborated in the game, thought and explored in Q&A. Lisa guided the children to think about how "knowledge about the properties of matter and energy conversion" could be used in these designs.





    卢先生邀请孩子们互动体验,引导大家发现设计师如何善于观察,敢于创新; 为人们带来生活便利、审美享受的同时关注全球可持续发展问题。在讲座结尾,卢先生呼吁,希望每位同学都能成为管理时间、经营时间的高手;也希望每位同学都能勤于思考,爱上设计


Mr. Lu invited the children to interact and experience, and guided them to discover how designers can be observant and innovative, bringing convenience and aesthetic enjoyment to people while paying attention to global sustainable development issues.



    这样活生生的课堂内容恰恰紧扣了我们第四个单元科技与创新的学习重点,孩子们以“使用过程研究问题和解决问题”为中心思想,探究了物质的结构和性质、物质的变化、能量的转移和守恒以及如何用工程和设计或自主进行创新设计,在实践中理解“过程”怎样帮助人们研究问题和解决问题。


Such lively lecture content is closely linked to the learning focus of the four units of UOI ------Technology and Innovation. Centering on the idea of "using process to research and solve problems", children explored the structure and properties of matter, changes in matter, the transfer and conservation of energy, and how engineering and design are used to solve problems. Through these practical exercises, they understand how "process" helps people research and solve problems. 



    

    IB教育提倡共建学习者社区,并强调学习者社区的建设是推动学生学习能动性、扩展学习资源、塑造全面发展的终身学习者的重要助力之一。家长是学习者社区重要组成部分,这就意味着培养一名具有国际情怀的学生需要师生、家长以及社区的共同努力。


IB education advocates the joint construction of learner communities, and emphasizes that the construction of learner communities is one of the important aids to promote students' learning initiative, expand learning resources, and shape well-rounded lifelong learners. Parents are an important part of the learner community, which means that developing an international student requires the joint efforts of teachers, students, parents and the community.





    嘉宾讲堂提供了一个多元化的教学模式,在传授专业领域知识的同时,注重培养学生多方面的学习能力和独立思考能力,增进了学习者间的社会交往。我校将会根据IB课程的推进继续开展嘉宾讲堂活动,更期待用这样的方式让每位家长参与活动、深入实践,共建学习者社区,真正让孩子们受益


“Guest Speaker” provides a diversified teaching mode. More than imparting professional knowledge, “Guest Speaker” pays attention to cultivating students' multi-faceted learning ability and independent thinking ability, and promotes social interaction among learners. ASJ will continue to carry out “Guest Speaker” in accordance with the advancement of the IB curriculum, and we hope more and more parents to join us and practice deeply, to build a community of learners truly benefiting the children.
