The third unit we have completed in year three has been about economics. The pictures are representing two events we held as both a formative and summative assessment for this unit.

Students teamed up with the help of our year 4 students to hold a swap meet. This allowed everyone to bring in items to swap with each other which enhanced their understanding of trade and the barter system.

在第一学期的最后一个星期,三年级学生完成了本学期的第三个探究单元——经济学。作为本单元的形成性和总结性评估,学生们围绕着经济主题开展了多个活动。三年级学生在四年级学生的帮助下,举办了一次交换集市。每个学生都带着物品,与同学们互相交换,这让他们了解到了贸易和增加了他们对易货贸易的理解。

Our final project looked at creating a product that students would be able to present to other students to see which ones they would buy. These products were designed around market research that was conducted with their classmates and year 4 students. Slogans, logo’s, research information and persuasive language were used while creating their final presentations.

本次探究单元的结业性项目是让学生设计创造一种产品,让学生能够向其他学生和老师展示,看看他们会购买哪些产品。这些产品均围绕着学生们做的市场调查而设计的。学生们为产品设计了标语和标志。在展示产品时,他们运用了调研信息和说服性的语言去表达和推销自己的产品。

  Creating & Inquiry


This unit is a nice example of how transdisciplinary learning occurs. Our graphing unit in math used tally charts to provide market research to create graphs for their projects. Also, with our writing focus in English being persuasive language, we were able to tie in persuasive language on their product packaging and in their sales pitch which was presented to students viewing their work.

本次探究单元是英语与数学的跨学科学习。在做市场调研时,学生们用到了数学绘图单元和统计图形为产品制作图表。本次英语写作的重点是使用说服性语言,学生们在设计产品包装和销售宣传语中使用说服性语言,向其他学生展示自己的作品。
