Grace老师研究生毕业于澳大利亚悉尼大学的教育学教学与课程专业;

她擅长 IB、A Level 和 AP 等主流国际课程的 K-12 数学科目教学,拥有超过 8 年的数学教学经验,其中包括 6 年在澳大利亚悉尼当地西部学校的教学经验;

她于2017年被澳大利亚新南威尔士教育部授予资深教师资格,并担任澳大利亚Homebush公立学校的班主任;

此外,她还具备跨学科教学能力,例如教授表演艺术和体育。她有2年的无板篮球教练经验,并拥有3年在澳大利亚悉尼主持学校文化表演的经历。

Ms Grace got her Master degree in Education in Teaching and Curriculum from the University of Sydney, Australia.

She specialises in Mathematics teaching from K-12 level in mainstream international programmes such as IB, A Level and AP. She has over 8 years of teaching Mathematics experience including 6 years’ experience of teaching highly in Sydney Australia.

She was granted as proficient teacher from  the department of Education N.S.W. (Australia) in 2017 and became Homeroom Teacher in Homebush Public School Australia.

She also has cross-curricular skills such as performance art and sport. She has 2 years netball coaching experience and hosted 3 years of school cultural performance in Sydney Australia.

Grace老师是爱莎荔湾初中部(国际方向)的数学教师。她精通英语和粤语,高中之前一直在广州生活,而后随家人远赴澳大利亚求学。得益于在中国和澳大利亚的求学以及教学经历,她包容开放,乐于接受不同的文化和价值观,与IB的核心理念不谋而合。

Ms Grace is a mathematics teacher of ISA Liwan Middle School (International Pathway). Fluent in English and Cantonese, she grew up in Guangzhou and then moved to Australia with her family when she was in high school. Thanks to her learning and teaching experience in China and Australia, she is open-minded and willing to accept different cultures and values, which aligns with the core concept of IB.

很多人认为数学很乏味,在生活中很少有运用到数学的地方。然而,Grace老师却持有不同的观点。她表示,数学其实与我们生活息息相关。无论是收拾房间时的空间规划、外出游玩之前的预算把控,还是日常处理事情的逻辑思维,都离不开数学。


为了激发学生对数学的兴趣,Grace老师根据学生们的爱好,设计了几个小游戏,让他们能在娱乐的同时获取知识。每一个教学单元结束的时候,Grace老师会结合本单元的知识点,在Quiz上设计不同的问题,鼓励学生们通过抢答获取道具,答对题目则能获得积分。这不但能够培养同学们的竞争意识,又可以让他们在游戏的同时,巩固自己所学到的知识点。


对于喜欢玩卡牌游戏的女生,Grace老师也会将数学题融入到卡牌上,增加学习趣味性的同时,又能增进同学们之间的交流。

Many people believe that mathematics is far from life, so the learning without practical applications is bound to be somewhat tedious. However, Ms Grace holds a different view. She says that maths is actually relevant to our lives. Whether it is space planning when tidying up a room, budgeting before going on a trip or logical thinking when dealing with daily matters, mathematics is essential.


In order to stimulate students' interest in mathematics, Ms Grace has designed several games based on students' hobbies so that they can gain knowledge while having fun. At the end of each study unit, Ms Grace will design different questions on the Quiz to incorporate the knowledge of the unit and encourage students to obtain props by quizzing and gaining points for correct answers. This not only fosters a sense of competition among students, but also helps them to review what they have learnt while playing the game. 


For girls who like to play card games, Ms Grace also incorporates maths questions onto the cards to make learning more interesting. It enhances the communication between students in the meanwhile.



In terms of curriculum, ISA Liwan takes the IB curriculum as the frame, integrated with the Singapore Mathematics Standards, which can not only ensure that students have a solid foundation of knowledge, but also increase the vitality of mathematics learning.


在课程方面,爱莎荔湾以IB课程为框架,融入了新加坡的数学课程标准,既能保证学生具备扎实的基础知识,又能给数学学习增加活力。

例如,Grace老师在教授坐标轴的时候,让学生在坐标轴内画一艘战舰,然后以两两对抗的方式,让学生们轮流报一个坐标点,“攻击“对方的战舰,加深他们对坐标定位的认知。


这种教学方式被称为CPA,即具象化、形象化和抽象化。它通过最简单的生活实物,让学生更加容易地吸收和理解复杂的数学概念。CPA在具体思维到抽象思维的过度上,表现卓著,让学生爱上数学,从而逐渐培养学生全方位的数学思维能力。


同时,爱莎荔湾中学部的数学课组组长RD老师会审查老师们的教学方式,避免课堂游戏过多,本末倒置。通过监督,把握学习和娱乐结合的尺度,给学生创造一个健康的学习环境。

For example, when teaching the coordinate axis, Ms Grace asked the students to draw a battleship in the coordinate axis. Then students took turns to indicate a coordinate point to "attack" the corresponding battleship. In this case, students have a better understanding of the definition of the coordinate axis.


This approach to teaching and learning is known as CPA (Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract). It allows students to absorb and understand complex mathematical concepts more easily through the simplest objects in life. CPA is outstanding in the transition from concrete thinking to abstract thinking, which can make students begin to like mathematics and gradually develop their all-round mathematical thinking ability.


Besides, Mr. RD, the mathematics group leader of ISA Liwan Secondary School, reviews the teaching methods of teachers to avoid excessive classroom games. Through supervision, ISA Liwan combines the study and entertainment appropriately to create a healthy learning environment for students.

“我不会是学生平级的伙伴,我不能成为他们的朋友。”在谈及师生关系的时候,Grace老师给出如是答复。她认为,教师需要跟学生维持一个良好的关系,这种关系可以亲近,但是不能成为朋友。因为教师是引导者,需要在学业、为人、处事等方面,给予学生正确的指示和引导。在爱莎荔湾,教师与学生相互尊重。学生从教师的一言一行中,耳濡目染,感受其人格以及学术魅力,并在其引导下健康成长。

"I wouldn't be a friend of my students." This was the response given by Ms Grace when talking about the teacher-student relationship. She believes that teachers need to maintain a good relationship with their students, a relationship that can be close, but not as a real friend. This is because teachers need to give students the right instructions and guidance in terms of both academics and life. In ISA Liwan, teachers and students respect each other. Students learn from their teachers' words and actions and grow up healthily under their guidance.

青春期的学生通常很有自己的想法,不喜欢一昧地服从。Grace老师表示,如果想要学生从一件事情当中抽离出来,最好的方法不是僵硬地告诉他们什么时间应该做什么事情,而是结合学校的资源,给学生创造另一个场景,提供明确的方向,让他们意识到从当前的事情中抽离出来之后可以往哪儿走。如此,学生在老师的指引下,慢慢将注意力转移。从而以更加柔和且巧妙的方式,达到“劝诫”的效果。

Ms Grace indicates that the best way to get students focused is to offer another attraction with school resources to provide them with a clear direction of their next step. It would help them realize what to do next. In this way, students slowly turn their attention away under the guidance of the teacher. Thus, the "exhorting" is achieved in a more gentle and ingenious way.

Students of different generations will have different ideas. As a teacher with 8 years of experience, Ms Grace actively seeks to understand students from their perspective. When a student makes a mistake, she will not only guide the student to correct the mistake, but also manage to figure out the hidden problems. It’s also a matter of understanding respect, inquiry and learning.

毫无疑问,校园是一个处处洋溢着青春活力的地方。Grace老师认为有的学生课堂表现力强,但书面上的应试能力比较差。爱莎荔湾致力于打造全人教育,鼓励学生全面发展。对此,学校拥有一套完整的评估体系,不仅仅是从学生的成绩去考察学生对知识的掌握程度,还会结合沟通、运用等方面去综合评估。Grace老师表示,她会在期末的时候设计一个数学版的“密室逃脱”,学生需要运用所学的数学知识去解题,相互沟通,互相协作,用一个充满活力的游戏,对学生进行全面的评估。

There is no doubt that the campus is a place full of youthful energy. Ms Grace believes that some students have strong performance in class, but need to develop their examination technique. ISA Liwan devotes to build holistic education and encourages students to develop in an all-round way. The school has a complete evaluation system. It not only evaluates students from their academic grades, but also focuses on their abilities to communication, application and other aspects. Ms Grace said that she would design a math version of "Escape Room" at the end of the semester, where students need to use their math knowledge, communicate and cooperate with each other to solve problems. She uses an energetic game to give her students a comprehensive assessment.

Ms Grace has cross-curricular skills such as performance art and sport. She has 2-year netball coaching experience and hosted 3 years of school cultural performance in Sydney Australia. Sport is something that she has always maintained. She advocates that teachers can build a healthy body and stay active by means of doing sports, and get along with students with vitality.


Ms Grace said that sport also fosters a sense of competition among students, which could help them to explore and make progress.
