In Music class, the Foundation students learnt about farm animals like sheep. The fleece of sheepskin has excellent insulating properties and it is also resistant to flame and static electricity. Sheepskin is especially useful in cold places. In connection with that, the students sang the popular rhyming songs ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’ and 'Baba Black Sheep,’ while dancing and playing with musical instruments.
The Kindergarten 1 students were introduced to the tambourine, a type of instrument made of animal skin or plastic with a combination of wood and steel. Whilst singing the song ‘Hear Hear,’ the children enjoyed playing the tambourine.
The Kindergarten 2 students kept focussing on the song ‘Children of the World,’ introduced last week. This song helped the children understand that people live in different places worldwide. For instance, some people live in cities, in deserts, and even by the sea. Most importantly, as the students sang and played the line “We are the same,” they fully realised that people around us have different ways of living.
