东华文泽学校（TWIS）是纯国际学校，全英文授课，采用IB课程，主要面向有意向出国留学的学生。

东华其他学校（从小学到高中）采用的是教育部国家义务教育课程，毕业参加中/高考。

其中，东华高级中学国际部隶属于东华高级中学，采用的是A-Level和AP课程。

东华松山湖高级中学与TWIS相邻，共享部分校园资源。但是由于课程体系相异，两所学校从教学到运营管理都是分开的。

Although TWIS is part of the Tungwah Education Group and shares its vision for academic excellence, the goals are very different.

TWIS is an authentic international school in every sense of the word – from its philosophy, organization, curriculum instruction and assessment. From primary school to high school, TWIS offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, which is recognized worldwide as a progressive ‘thinking’ curriculum. 

While TWEG follows the national curriculum to prepare students for the Gawkow, TWIS aims to produce internationally-minded students with a well-rounded personality who are ready for the next chapter of lives, whether to study overseas or attend the international div of outstanding Chinese universities by preparing students to sit for the gold standard of international education, the IB diploma.

On the other hand, the international div of Tungwah Senior High School is affiliated to Tungwah Senior High School, with high school and A-level and AP curriculum.

Although some facilities are shared by both schools of TWIS and Tungwah Senior High School at Songshan Lake, there is very little interaction between them as their mission and vision are completely different. TWIS has its own school board and the day-to-day operations of the school is under the leadership of a well-seasoned expatriate head.

The international div of the kindergarten is part of the Tungwah Education group, but the TWIS head of school oversees the curriculum and instruction which includes the Montessori approach and the PYP. Children who attend the international kindergarten are assured that they can transition smoothly to TWIS.

Only on its second year of existence, TWIS is proud of the milestones reached in its IB journey. The school is currently an IB candidate school for PYP, MYP and DP, and expecting to complete the authorization process next academic year.

Currently, the oldest cohort at TWIS is still three years away from graduation. However, student orientation regarding career and university choices have already started in order to support them in making an informed decision regarding their subject choices in the Diploma Programme (DP). One of the strengths of the DP is its emphasis on providing counseling and a robust support system when it comes to university application in such a way that families actually no longer have a need to hire expensive educational consultants.

TWIS chooses to become an IB continuum school offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) because for the past 50 years, the IB has continued to be the leading choice of prestigious universities for the IB’s academic rigor that prepares students for the challenges of college and beyond.

TWIS is delighted to be joined by qualified and experienced teachers from over 10  countries. These teachers share the same passion and commitment to ‘make the world a better place through education’, which is aligned with the IB philosophy.

As English is the primary medium of instruction, teachers' bilingual or multilingual skills inspire students and enable them to speak and write fluently in English and learn other world languages. 

The current teacher-student ratio is 1:5, which allows for individualized, personal learning and ensures that no one ‘passes under the radar.’ Students’ individual needs are met under the care of their teachers and teaching assistants.

Each PYP class from Grade 1 to 5 welcomes 24 students per class. For the MYP and DP (G6-G12), there are 25 students in a class.

Grades 1 to 5 are under the PYP umbrella; Grade 6 to 10 fall under the MYP; and Grades 11 to 12 are in the DP.

As part of its commitment to a balanced, well-rounded education, TWIS currently offers more than 50 extra-curricular activities. Students are encouraged to choose activities that either further their skills or allow them to go out of their comfort zone. These activities are wide and varied ranging from sports, arts, science and technology, and modern languages.

TWIS的寄宿项目是基于“家外之家”的理念。学生在进行课程作业期间会受到监管，老师也会参与学生的不同的活动中，如阅读、桌游、乐器、健身等。

寄宿生晚餐时间为17点-18点，晚餐结束后将进行Q13的寄宿项目。PYP的熄灯时间是21:00，MYP的熄灯时间是21:30。

因为TWIS没有午休时间，因此学校需要确保他们晚上有良好和充足的休息，准备迎接新一天的学习。

TWIS认识到屏幕成瘾是新一代面临的新挑战，因此将对手机及其他电子通讯设备进行严格管理。智能电话、智能手表或其他个人电子设备均不得出现在校园内。

如携带上述电子产品进入学校，将由老师代为保管。学校也鼓励学生带“傻瓜机”，用联系家长并告知在校一天的情况。

TWIS鼓励家长参与到各种学校活动中来，其中包括家长大学、家长会、见面会、演出等，更好地了解IB课程和TWIS，以便帮助学生融入和度过在TWIS的时光。

Yes! We have a Boarding Programme that reinforces the skills and values we promote during school hours. Each room is shared by a maximum of 4 students to give students their personal space but at the same time encourage camaraderie and interaction.

The TWIS boarding programme is based on a ‘home away from home’ ethos. Once boarders have finished their homework, they can engage in activities of their own choosing, which is what they would do if they were at home.  For example, our PYP students participate in read-aloud sessions while others may prefer board games. Some students may opt to practice their musical instrument while others prefer to do fitness training or shoot some hoops.

At 16:00, all boarders are scattered around the campus engaged in various sporting, intellectual, musical, artistic or technological pursuits under the CASE program (creativity, activity, service and English). Afterward, they all go to the cafeteria for dinner before going up to their rooms for some downtime. Boarders are supervised by our house tutors and caregivers from 18:00 – 20:00 while they complete their homework or engage in other activities.

For PYP, lights off at 21:00 while it’s bedtime at 21:30 for older students.

As our students do not have ‘nap time’ during the day, we need to ensure that they have a good night’s rest to wake up refreshed to face a new exciting day of learning at TWIS.

Being cognizant that screen addiction is a new challenge that this new generation faces, the use of e-device is strictly controlled at TWIS. Student laptops are monitored so that their use remains for academic purposes only, while internet access is restricted at a certain time.

Students do not bring their smartphones to school or the boarding house but are encouraged to bring a ‘dumb’ phone to call mom and dad to share how their day went. TWIS believes that parents of boarders should not become ‘weekend’ parents as they alienate themselves from their children. Parents should always take an active role in the upbringing of their children.

Parents need to be supportive of their children, and celebrate success no matter how small it may be at the beginning. Your children are on their way to becoming bilingual or multi-lingual. With this new feat, you will also see how their thinking are stretched.

Expect us to teach your children differently. We do not ask students to memorize random vocabulary without understanding how these words are used contextually. We do not have a single textbook for every subject but we use various major resources, and most of the time students are the ones who search for the answers.

In order to understand what makes a quality international education different, we expect parents to participate in various school activities, including workshops, conferences, meet-and-greets, and performances,  to better understand the TWIS school life and the IB curriculum.

The more parents know and understand what we offer, the better it is for families and the school.

We are thrilled to welcome applicants who are children of foreign personnel (parents are not required to hold overseas status), or children from Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan who hold valid residence permits.

Primary school: RMB 70,000 per semester.

Middle School: RMB 75,000 per semester.
