Renaissance, the world’s biggest provider of assessment and practice education technology for reading and maths, officially launches in China today.

全球最大的英语和数学测评教育科技公司睿乐生教育集团(睿乐生)正式登陆中国。

Renaissance’s London-based international division, which operates in 95 countries, has established an office in Beijing and is working with a data centre in Shanghai that will host all its products for the Chinese market.

睿乐生教育集团全球事业总部位于伦敦，业务遍及全球95个国家，目前已在北京设立办事处，并在上海成立了数据中心，支持中国市场产品。

More than 18 million students across the globe use Renaissance’s cloud-based tools, which provide personalised assessment and teaching and learning practice in reading and maths.

目前，全球超过1800万名学生使用睿乐生的云端工具进行个性化英语分级阅读，数学学习和英语测评。

At an event at the British Ambassador’s residence in Beijing, Erez Tocker, Renaissance’s Managing Director, said China’s vision for its education system “chimed perfectly” with what his firm offered.

在英国驻华大使馆北京官邸发布会上，睿乐生董事总经理Erez Tocker表示，中国教育体系的愿景与睿乐生教育的愿景“完美契合”。

“The Chinese government is ahead of many others in its desire to see innovation in K-12 education, personalised English language learning and edtech in the classroom,” he said.

Erez Tocker说道：“中国政府在推动K-12教育创新、个性化英语学习以及把高科技带入课堂领域领先其他许多国家。”

“Here in China, we’re seeing a move away from traditional teaching and learning  towards a more personalised curriculum - one that responds to each learner’s individual strengths and weaknesses.

“在中国，我们看到教学方式正在由传统的“教”与“学”向更加个性化的教学方式转变，全新的教学方式能够针对每位学习者的优势和劣势做出调整。”

“This chimes perfectly with what Renaissance offers and our vision to accelerate learning for all, particularly through literacy and numeracy.

“这与睿乐生的宗旨以及我们助力所有学生加速学习的愿景完美契合，特别是在分级阅读和数学方面。”

“China is one of our key markets, together with the US and the UK. Now, with a team here in Beijing and our expertise from operating across the world, we are uniquely placed to offer what educators in China are looking for and to focus on growth in this country.”

Renaissance’s launch in China comes after three years spent understanding what would work best for Chinese customers and how to adapt products to best suit the Chinese education system.

进军中国市场之前，睿乐生曾投入了三年时间研究最契合中国客户需求的模式，以及如何调整自身产品，使其最适合中国的教育体系。

Chinese students have already taken more than 92,000 quizzes using Renaissance’s Accelerated Reader software over the last year, with an impressive 84% success rate.

过去一学年中，中国学生已经使用睿乐生Accelerated Reader英语分级阅读练习软件阅读后做了9.2万道题，正确率高达84%。

Senior leadership at the business have spoken to educators at hundreds of China’s international schools and innovative English learning centres.

睿乐生目前已经为数百所中国国际学校和领先的英语学习中心的教育工作者进行了交流，使用其享誉全球的Accelerated Reader 和 Star Reading 帮助学生提供个性化分级阅读和英语测评 。

Speaking at the launch, Sarah Haythornthwaite, Renaissance’s International Marketing Director, said the company was committed to “understanding the needs of China’s students and educators to best serve them now and for many years to come”.

睿乐生教育国际市场总监Sarah Haythornthwaite在发布会上表示，睿乐生致力于“理解中国学生和教育工作者的需求，以便在现在和未来为他们提供最好的服务”。

“We see huge potential here in China and are committed to delivering the same levels of success we’ve seen across the globe,” she said.

Today’s launch was attended by more than 70 guests, including Deputy Trade Commissioner for China at the Department for International Trade at British Embassy, China-Britain Business Council and the British Council. Renaissance UK also signed a strategic cooperation with Wangsu Technology that hosts their Shanghai Data Centre and two of their important clients, Green Hippo English and Kid’s English District. 

70余位嘉宾出席了今天举行的睿乐生教育集团发布会，来自英国大使馆英国贸易部（Department for International Trade at British Embassy），英中贸易协会（China-Britain Business Council）和英国文化教育协会（British Council）的领导参会。睿乐生教育集团同网宿科技（Wangsu Technology）签署了战略合作协议，网宿科技是睿乐生上海数据中心的托管方。同时睿乐生也与中国两家重要客户代表——绿河马少儿英语（Green Hippo English）和三更灯火五更猫 （Kid’s English）签署长期合作协议。

Mr. John Edwards, Deputy Trade Commissioner for China, says “I am very glad to see that Renaissance has demonstrated long-term commitment with China to provide the best user experience in improving children’s reading and learning skills in China.” Mr. Tom Simpson, Managing Director China Operations of China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), congratulates Renaissance to launch its operations officially in China and its achievement of establishing the data centre in Shanghai. CBBC will continue to support education providers across UK, China and the world to enhance the study experience to all learners. Mr. Danny Whitehead, the British Council’s Deputy Country Director China added “The UK is a world leader in teaching, learning, assessment, and education technology, and I’m delighted to see that students and families now have the opportunity to access the benefits of a UK education through Renaissance’s products right here in China. Education and language partnerships are powerful tools to build trust and understanding, and to foster cultural exchange”.
