2019年12月13日下午，上海宏润博源学校模拟联合国（MUN）社团的十二位同学在麻老师的带领下到上海中学参加上海中学国际部与牛津大学共同举办的全国中学生模拟联合国大会。本次会议持续两天半，于12月15日下午结束。

On the afternoon of December 13th, 2019, twelve students from the Model United Nations (MUN) Club of Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School, led by Miss Irene Ma, went to Shanghai High School to attend the National Model United Nations Conference for Middle School Students co-organized by Shanghai High School International Division and Oxford University. The conference lasted two and a half days and ended in the afternoon of 15 December.

我校的十二位同学被分配在联合国教科文组织（UNSECO）、安理会（UN Security Council）、外太空公司(UNOOSA)以及科学技术发展组织(UNSTDO)。同学们需要研究自己所代表的国家，就自己所在组织给定议题写出立场文件，并在会议上提出倡议，争取各国代表的支持。

Our students were assigned to the following organizations: UNSECO, the UN Security Council, UNOOSA and UNSTDO. Students needed to study the countries they represented, wrote a position paper on a given topic, and proposed their motions at the conference to win the support of other countries’ delegates.

各国代表都是有备而来，会议非常严肃，讨论也非常激烈，仿若真的联合国会议，各国代表在为自己国家的立场竭力斡旋。虽然我校模联社的同学大都是第一次参加这种类型的模拟联合国比赛，但整个团队也取得了不错的集体成绩，蔡晗啸同学取得了不错的个人成绩。会议结束后，大家在返程的车上复盘自己的收获以及之后如何做地更好。一起来看看几位同学的分享吧。

Most delegates were well prepared and took the conference seriously. All delegates were trying their best to mediate for their own countries’ benefits. It was the first time for our students to take part in this conference, yet Sam Cai, founder of our MUN club earned an award for his wonderful performance, bringing some recognition to our team as well. On the bus back to school, we shared our reflections about this conference. Let’s have a look at some of the students’ thoughts.

There're two kinds of MUN conferences: one is non-competitive; another is competitive. For MMUN, it's a non-competitive conference while for Oxford MUN, like most conferences, is a competitive one. Therefore, it would not be wise if I still train the delegates for a non-competitive conference.

A lot more preparations should be done, including but not limited to:

Crazy social ability

Crazy draft resolution paper writing ability

Even prepare for a speech to argue which topic to discuss first

Getting more used to parliamentary procedures

Note passing ability

Speech making abilities

Crazy typing speed

More moderated caucus topics and speeches prepared

Pre-prepared draft resolution paper.

Getting to know the exact procedure beforehand is also essential. It would have been better if I had known there was committee session on the first day; it would be better if we got a bit more time to prepare.

MUN的比赛是非常快乐的，这次的经历给我留下了非常深刻而又独特的影响。

不同于学校中的模拟，真实的比赛并没有那么简单，与你坐在同一个委员会里的都是高手，而且每一位选手都是有着独特风格和套路的。这次来比赛的很多都是华侨，母语为英语的选手们自然在语言上可以完全压制着我。何况这次的话题还是很困难的，网络战争以及人权侵犯问题，对于一个代表国家为波兰的选手来说，这是非常进退两难的。

不管别的委员会里怎么样，在我所处的UNSC— United Nations Security Council（联合国安理会）来说，每一位选手都完美的演绎且尽可能真实的还原了安理会的开会情况。相互之间都是各种心理战术，欺骗、同情、达成一致、相互鼓舞。代表们之间的微表情也是十分丰富，与别的委员交流之时需要注意你说的每一句话以及每一个动作。

在UNSC的委员会中，每一位选手都有自己想法，并且除非最终确认派系，不然国家代表间都充斥着不信任以及暗中斗争。威胁、合作、矛盾、指错，这些手段不断的被各位国家代表所使用，但是只要在代表间把控得当，依旧可以在外交立场上显得游刃有余。

各种刁钻问题被不断提出，但是在提出后却发现连提问人自己也无法勉强解释，越是明面上表明立场相互斗争，越是容易出现漏洞与笑柄，把控自己的情绪与理智的能力在这些状况下被凸显的尤为重要。

正如Mr. Centers一再强调的那样，在模拟联合国中代表的任务不是尽可能的发言与展现自我，而是要为自己所代表的国家带来与维持利益。

这次的比赛让我见识到了很多的强者，不管是明面上的还是暗地里那些真正的强者，这次经历都让我受益匪浅。同时能与很多的来自五湖四海的同学们认识、竞争与合作也是缘分。就算在比赛中相互对立，大家也依旧成为了朋友。同时还要感谢Sam Cai作为社长与培训负责老师的负责与努力，没有这样的一位领导者我是无法去参加比赛的。

Although it's a little disappointing that we didn't receive many awards, I really learnt a lot during these two days. I found out that I should be better prepared next time and learn more words and speak more English. I'm proud of myself that I had the courage to stand in front of all strong delegates. It's my first time to participate in such a big conference. I'm looking forward to our future performance.

这次的MUN可以说让我获益匪浅。我惊讶于其他代表准备的充分程度（在我拿到那本小纸条前我甚至不知道那是用来干什么的）。会议过程中我一次都没有登台演讲，因为其他人都准备了书一样厚的演讲稿，而我除了立场文件外什么都没有。此外，在别人争论议题以及“拉帮结派”的同时，仅仅是弄清楚他们的主旨就已经能够让我变得迷惑。

然而，这次MUN还是成功的, 让我对这类会议的流程有了亲身的经验与了解，也让我意识到我的准备还不够充分。虽然没有拿奖，但毕竟第一次。下一次，我必须对两个议题都有完善的计划，要提前想好是自己创立集团还是加入和我志同道合的集团。

同时，反应速度和撰写文件的能力也是必要的。令我震惊的是，在二十分钟讨论决议草案的时候，几乎前十六分钟都在讨论，然而二十分钟结束后，那位负责写文件的代表就已经把一份完善的决议草案交给主席了。

这次MUN可以说是我MUN道路的起点，而我认为这是一个不错的起点。相信下次我可以做的更好。

I was a little disappointed with myself, because I was not fully prepared. Although I got some opportunities to get on stage to present my motions about topic A, yet for topic B I was totally led by the nose by other delegates. Next time I will be more prepared and have a better performance.
