11月的第四个星期四，又到了一年一度的感恩节。这是一个庆祝丰收和感恩祝福的节日。在这一天，一年级邀请了家长和其他年级的学生到TWIS礼堂，他们通过唱歌、跳舞和角色扮演等活动，展示着他们对这一重大节日的历史探究。表演结束后，一年级学生还享有与家长共进感恩节大餐的机会。

On the fourth Thursday of November, it’s time for the annual Thanksgiving Day, a date to celebrate the harvest season and other blessings of the year gone by. At TWIS, parents and students were invited to the auditorium by Grade 1 students who showcased their inquires on this significant event through an assembly with singing, dancing and role-playing! What's more, our Grade 1 students shared a Thanksgiving meal with parents and grandparents right after the assembly.

每一个生活在科技高速发展时代的人，其日常生活都离不开科学技术的影响。因此，TWIS科学日的举办是为了让学生通过课堂之外的科学实验，了解科学在我们日常生活中的重要性和相关性。每年的11月10日是世界科学日，强调着科学在社会中的重要性以及它对和平与发展的影响。

Everyone who lives in an era of rapid technological development cannot live without the influence of science in their daily lives. TWIS Science Day was held to make our learners understand the importance and relevance of science in our daily lives through experiments outside the classroom. The event was also held to create awareness about World Science Day normally celebrated globally on 10th November every year, highlighting the significance of science in society and its impact to peace and development. Students had a blast with the various activities prepared by the science team. Here are some of the highlights!

玉米淀粉与水混合后形成一种粘稠的流体。不遵守牛顿的粘性定律，此流体的流动取决于施加在其身上的力度或压力的大小。学生们有机会踩在液体上，感受这种粘性效应。

Corn starch mixed with water forms a thick fluid (viscous) that does not obey Newton’s law of viscosity. Its flow depends on the amount of force or stress applied to it. Students had a chance to step on the fluid and feel that viscosity effect.

学生们学会设计自己的纸片火箭，并利用密封瓶的空气压力将其发射，学生们制作的火箭大多数能飞到20-60米的范围！

Students had to design their own paper rockets and launch them using air pressure from a sealed bottle. Most of the rockets flew from a range distance of 20-60 meters!

此实验需要过氧化氢、干酵母和可食用色素。混合后会产生了五颜六色的气泡，类似于牙膏的概念。

The experiment requires hydrogen peroxide, dry yeast, and food color. When mixed colorful bubbles were produced, similar concept to that of toothpaste.

使用水、食用油、可食用色素、柠檬酸和小苏打等元素混合后，彩色的水泡在油中移动，创造出一个犹如火山中熔岩爆发的现象。

This experiment required water, cooking oil, food color, citric acid, and baking soda. When mixing the colored water bubbles moved through oil, it will create a phenomenon like that of lava erupting in a volcano.

11月26日，TWIS体育部举办了MYP学院运动会——旨在帮助各年级的学生建立友谊，学会团队合作，为他们所在的学院赢取分数。在比赛中，我们很自豪地看到学生在体育馆里展示了良好的学校精神和出色的体育精神。红、蓝、黄、橙四种颜色的学院，猜猜谁会在学期末成为赢家呢！

On November 26th, TWIS Athletics Department held an MYP House Games, aiming to help build camaraderie among students across grade levels by placing them in situations wherein they have to collaborate as a team to earn points for their Houses. During the competition, we are proud to see our MYP students show school spirit and outstanding sportsmanship in the gymnasium. Houses of Red, Blue, Yellow and Orange, guess which house will be the winner at the end of the semester!
