It is in the air! Christmas not only means a festive season for giving and sharing but also marks the end of a long, busy and fruitful autumn term. On 17th December, LEH Foshan invited the whole LEH Community to celebrate and enjoy students’ performances.
圣诞节如期而至，这不仅意味着一个给予和分享的节日，也标志着一个漫长、忙碌和硕果累累的秋季学期的结束。在12月17日，佛山市霍利斯国际学校邀请了霍利斯社区的成员们一起参加第一学期典礼，欣赏学生们的精彩表演。
Choir 合唱
The whole celebration kicked off with the classic Christmas carol Silent Night by our LEH Choir, a song that resonates with the eternal message of hope and peace.
圣诞经典曲目《Silent Night》传递着人们对于希望与和平的永恒愿景，佛山霍利斯合唱团的精彩演绎为学期典礼正式拉开帷幕。
The group singing was followed by the Head Master welcoming the whole school community, students, parents and governors to celebrate the end of the first fall term at LEH through an exciting and diverse range of musical and dramatic activities giving students of all abilities the opportunities to perform.
合唱完毕后，校长致词欢迎各位学生们、家长们和学校管理层前来参加学校首个秋季学期典礼，并宣告接下来的一系列精彩纷呈的多元化音乐和戏剧节目，给予学生们发挥才能、展示自我的舞台。
Music 音乐
Our talented students presented a collection of musical pieces, from Le Petit Âne blanc (Little White Donkey) to Silver Cloud Chasing Moon, with various instruments including piano, cello, drum kit and oboe.
富有音乐天赋的学生们轮流为观众们来带钢琴、大提琴、架子鼓和双簧管乐器表演，演奏了从《Le Petit Âne blanc》到《彩云追月》的一系列经典曲目。
Drama 戏剧
Our Y9 drama students reproduced a short clip of the stage play Sparkleshark featuring some powerful monologues.
九年级戏剧学生们带来经典舞台剧《Sparkleshark》片段，张力十足的演绎牵动着大家的心弦。
Reading 朗读
Year 6 student Jimmy Luo read passionately his award-winning fiction writing Revolution, taking all of us on his imaginative journey.
六年级学生Jimmy Luo为在座观众朗诵他的获奖虚构短篇故事《Revolution》，带领大家领略他那奇思妙想的世界。
Chinese Poetry Recital 中文诗歌朗诵
Chinese also plays an important part in the School’s curriculum and we were delighted to listen to students reciting 乡愁 and 面朝大海, 春暖花开, two of the most well-known Chinese modern poems.
中文学科是霍利斯课程体系的重要一环。我们的学生声情并茂为大家朗诵了两首中文现代诗歌《乡愁》和《面朝大海, 春暖花开》。
Awards 颁奖
The Celebration was also about recognising the achievements of students who had worked very hard to fulfil their potential during this term.
在典礼上，校长为在本学期内表现出众的学生们颁发奖状。
Choir 合唱
The Celebration ended with the choir performance Feliz Navidad, a joyful song that kept the cheery Christmas vibe flowing and the wonderful melodious sounds of festive music permeating the air waves around the School.
整场学期典礼以一首经典圣诞歌曲《Feliz Navidad》圆满结束。霍利斯合唱团的美妙歌声向现场每一位传达了美好的圣诞祝愿，浓浓的节日欢乐氛围萦绕整座校园。
Christmas and the calendar New Year is very much a time for family and friends, for celebration and for recognising how fortunate we are. LEH Foshan would like to take this opportunity to wish the whole LEH Foshan community a very happy Christmas and a peaceful, prosperous New Year.
圣诞节和元旦是与家人朋友团聚的节日，也是庆祝并感恩我们所拥有的一切的好时机。佛山市霍利斯国际学校想借此机会，祝福霍利斯社区的所有成员，圣诞快乐，新年新气象！

Term ends at 13:00 on Friday 17 December.
本学期将于12月17日的中午13点正式结束。
Term 2 starts on Tuesday 4 January with registration at the normal time of 08:00 in Phoenix House. Boarders may return between 19:00 and 20:30 on Monday 3 January.
第二学期将于1月4日（星期二）正式开始，学生需在8点前抵达学院签到。寄宿生可选择在1月3日（星期一）晚上的7至8点半之间返校。
We look forward to welcoming a number of new students in January. Thank you in advance to our student buddies who will help them to settle in to life at LEH.
在来年1月份，佛山霍利斯将会迎来更多新学生，在此提前谢谢我们的学生伙伴（buddies）将会帮助新同学顺利在霍利斯开展校园新生活。
