Boarding Life at TWIS

作为一所国际学校，TWIS不仅提供涵盖PYP小学项目、MYP中学项目和DP大学预科项目的IB一贯制课程，还为所有年级的学生提供寄宿项目，让他们在成长中学会独立和领会至关重要的生活技能。在一个富有包容性、挑战性且能够受到良好照顾的寄宿环境里，TWIS赋予每一位学生发展其责任感和自信心的机会。

TWIS does not only provide the prestigious IB continuum curriculum of PYP, MYP and DP. The school also offers a Boarding Program for students who might benefit from an early start in developing independence and learning important life skills. Our Boarding House provides a caring environment where students are involved, challenged, and given every opportunity to develop responsibility and confidence.

在“家外之家”的寄宿项目中，TWIS住宿生过着规律的生活——每天早上按时起床，前往餐厅享用早餐，紧接着开启一整天的课程学习；下午放学后，住宿生有机会去参加一系列趣味十足的英语沉浸式活动，即“CASE”（创意、活动、服务、英语）活动，去积极探究知识、锻炼身体和广交朋友。这些活动覆盖全校范围，例如，摄影俱乐部的成员在本学期拍摄了各种各样的体育比赛图片，为学校年册的制作提供了丰富的图片库。在提升英语能力或为学校服务的同时，学生有机会在不同的俱乐部享受学习的乐趣，以及探索全新的领域和技能。

In the TWIS Boarding House, we emphasize that it’s a home away from home experience. Every day TWIS boarders get up, go to breakfast and then have a full day of studies.  Every day, after classes, TWIS boarders participate in a range of fun English immersion events that encourage inquiry, knowledge, sports and social skills called Creativity, Activity, Service and English (CASE) activities. These activities can be shared with the entire school community.  For example, members of the Photography CASE club took photos of all of the sporting events this term to help out with the yearbook. We do this so that students are constantly able to improve their English language skills while enjoying learning and exploration of new ideas and skills in a guided club environment and whenever possible we place emphasis on service.

Daily Routine of TWIS Boarders

晚餐过后，便是住宿生整理宿舍内务的时间。在这一过程中，学生可以学到关键的生活技能，如养成良好的个人卫生习惯和维护舒适整洁的共同生活空间。家长可以如何与住校生沟通？TWIS鼓励住宿生每天晚上与家人通电话，共同分享双方的日常生活，从而让父母和孩子建立良好的沟通关系。

After dinner, boarders do daily chores so that they learn important life skills like personal hygiene and maintaining a clean and comfortable shared living environment.  We also encourage boarders to call home every evening to touch base with their parents so that they know what’s always going on with them. We do this so that parents know that they can easily communicate with their children at any time.  

在学校宿舍里，寄宿部每周和住宿生开会，讨论宿舍安全事项，并提醒学生注意住宿生活的基本规则。在TWIS，每一位住宿生都知道他们应该分担维护房间、宿舍公共区域卫生的工作与责任。另外，寄宿部每周会颁发“最佳住宿生”的奖项，以表彰那些表现优异的住宿生，如富有责任感、保持整洁、按时完成作业、尊重同伴和宿舍工作人员等。

In the House, we also have weekly meetings with boarders to discuss safety best practices and to remind them about the essential agreements of daily boarding life. Every boarder knows that they are expected to share in the responsibility of the upkeep of their rooms and in the common areas of the House. In support of these skills, we have weekly boarding student of the week awards in which students who best demonstrate skills such as being responsible, neat and tidy, completing homework on time, and being respectful towards peers and boarding staff are recognized.
