艺术与设计 Art & Design

本学期艺术与设计课程中发生了许多令人兴奋的事情。十三年级将从他们的A Level课程毕业，从各种风格、主题、材料、图案和技术发展创作自己的艺术作品，从抽象风格到现实主义风格的作品。学生们正处于衔接第1部分作品集的最后阶段，很快就可以从二月份起完成从英国发布的外部考核作业。

与此同时，十二年级开始了A Level课程，并且开始设置他们作品的标题，学习艺术家们的画风流派等以及对运动瞬间的刻画，除了他们的这些大课程内容之外，也进行了完成大项目需要的补充工作的发展。每个学生都会选择自己的作品标题，目前为止，我们已经看到了从风景画和肖像画的传统学科到现代主义抽象技术的艺术作品标题。

十一年级的学生正在努力完成IGCSE课程，并整理他们的档案袋，为他们年级的外部考核作业做准备。

最后，2026届学生刚开始他们的艺术方向课程，上半年他们会特别专注于绘画能力的发展。学生们被严格限制在干燥介质上使用铅笔、木炭笔，然后使用墨水等临摹作画。他们被要求使用各种经过时间考验的测量方法，准确地再现生活和摄影参考中的静止图像。如果严格遵守这些绘画能力提升的方法，将确保获得良好的绘画技能提升。接下来一年，学生们将开始扩大绘画材料的范围，练习时长达到并获得了理想的效果后，那么接下来可以接触版画与摄影。

There are many exciting things happening this year in art. A new class is set to graduate from their A Level and develop artworks from a wide range of styles, themes, materials, motifs, and techniques ranging from the abstract to realistic pieces. Students are in the final stages of assembling their Component 1 portfolios and will soon be ready to begin their External Set Assignment released from the UK in February.

Meanwhile the Year 12 have begun their A Level courses and are already set on titles to work within, artists and movements to study, as well as the development of supplemental work in addition to their larger projects. Every student chooses their own Title to work within and so far we’ve seen artworks ranging from the traditional disciplines of landscape and portrait painting to the modernist abstract techniques.

Likewise the Year 11 students are working on the completion of their IGCSE Coursework and assembling their portfolios in preparation for the External Set Assignment.

Lastly the 2026 year group has just started their artistic development and are singularly focused and restricted to the development of their drawing abilities for the first half of the year. Students are strictly limited to dry media such as pencils, charcoal and later ink and set to accurately reproducing still images from life and photographic reference using a variety of time tested measurement methods garaunteed to get results if strictly followed. Going forward into the next year students will begin expanding the range of the materials they can use to paints and, if time and desirable results are achieved, printmaking and photography.
