佛山霍利斯学期精彩回顾 LEHF End of Term Review

亲爱的大家，
圣诞节是家人团聚、享受美食与庆祝节日的日子。今年依旧如此。
在即将到来的一年，我祝愿家人朋友一切顺利。随着疫情管制的放松，人们感到关于自身健康的不安。大多数人有这样矛盾的感觉，我理智地希望保持健康又想完全享受生活。在即将到来的几周里，我们非常希望看到并感受到是时候继续前进和拥抱疫情之后的生活。
与此同时，让我们一起回顾本学期的高光时刻吧！
在本学期内，我们举办了一系列丰富多彩的校园活动，并从中见证着学生们在学术、运动、音乐和个人成长方面所取得的进步和成就。以下是其中一些精彩活动的回顾。
佛山市霍利斯外籍人员子女学校2022-2023学年于9月1日正式开学。我们很高兴看到所有学生们快乐地回到我们的美丽校园之中，开展新学期的校园学习生活。
英女王逝世后，佛山霍利斯在校内举办了英国女王伊丽莎白二世纪念活动，校长、老师和学生们分别发表讲话、诗歌朗诵和献唱，以纪念这位英国在位时间最长的君主。
佛山霍利斯在10月21日举办首次大学升学展——名校面对面活动，让学生家庭提前了解相关升学资讯，并能够与世界知名大学的招生代表进行面对面交流，深入了解招生政策信息。
在11月11日，我们利用全校会议的时间，通过音乐和诗歌来纪念休战日，我们希望将孩子培养为世界公民，充分了解并关心他们所生活的世界。
佛山霍利斯音乐学院于9月17日正式成立，在学期间的每个周六早上为学生提供卓越水平的音乐和乐器课程、训练和考试复习指导。
本学期，我们举办了三场午间音乐会，每场音乐会都展示了佛山霍利斯学子们深厚的音乐天赋。
在12月10日，我们迎来了万众期待的冬日集市活动，佛山霍利斯社区成员共同庆祝节日的到来。
佛山霍利斯于12月12日举行圣诞音乐会，本场圣诞音乐会完美地展示了霍利斯学子的音乐才华以及对音乐的热诚，也为学校带来了浓郁的圣诞气氛。
佛山霍利斯于12月13日举办了全校运动会和迷你世界杯比赛。运动员们在竞技项目中向大家展示他们在体育课上所学到的技能，奋力拼搏，挥洒汗水，为学院荣誉而战。
在第一学期，我们保持成长、不断前行，取得新突破。正式成立预备部，并获得了许多学术机构的认证。这些成绩和成就都彰显着佛山霍利斯在成为全球卓越学校的路上不断前进。
佛山霍利斯在本学期正式成为英国大学和学院招生服务中心（UCAS）注册中心。作为UCAS注册中心，佛山霍利斯能够在整个申请过程为学生提供帮助，并拥有专属权限，可以追踪了解学生从提交申请到被英国高等教育机构录取的整个过程，确保学生们在适当时候完成所有必要的步骤，保证入学申请顺利完成。
本学期，佛山市霍利斯预备部正式成立，进一步拓展学校的招生年龄段范围，为在大湾区工作生活的港澳台及外籍人员的低龄子女提供卓越英式教育。

从预备部开始，我们开展了一些与学生年龄和能力匹配的领导力项目，如预备部学校委员会代表、环保和体育大使、班级代表和学院队长。在佛山霍利斯，学生领导力是学生发展的核心内容之一，也是我们全人教育的重点。
2022-2023学年，佛山市霍利斯外籍人员子女学校首届IGCSE学生进入12-13年级阶段的学习，开启她们学习旅程上的新篇章。她们刻苦认真学习，她们的努力也在IGCSE考试中获得了回报。
我们的学生Naomi在2022年6月IGCSE考试中，取得了IGCSE英文文学的中国区最高分成绩，因此也获得剑桥国际考试委员会的表彰，被授予“剑桥卓越学子大奖。
我们的第一届13年级学生Scarlett已经提前收到了来自伦敦大学皇家霍洛威学院的音乐学士学位的录取通知书，该学院一直是英国音乐专业排名前十的大学之一。她还有幸参加了剑桥大学的面试。我们祝愿她一切顺利。
佛山霍利斯新一届家长委员会于第一学期正式成立。家委会的关键作用是进一步加强亲子沟通和加强家庭与学校的合作。
学校在今年十月正式成为LAMDA的认证考试中心， LAMDA分级考试证明了学生在表演、公开演讲和诗歌朗诵方面的具体能力水平，旨在提高学生的表演和演讲能力以及申请大学的竞争力。
佛山霍利斯从众多申请者中脱颖而出，入围最终三强名单，获奖院校将于明年二月公布。
感谢每位学生和家长对佛山霍利斯社区蓬勃多元发展所作出的贡献, 让我们期待新学期的到来，共同续写新的美好回忆。

Dear All,
Christmas is a time for family, food and festivities. This year is no different.
I want to wish all of our families and friends the very best for the coming new year. As Covid restrictions ease, there is a sense of nervous excitement about how safe we are. Many of us have conflicting feelings, we sensibly want to remain healthy but we also want to enjoy life to the full. Over the coming weeks we will hopefully see and feel that it is time to bravely move on and embrace life beyond Covid.
In the meantime, let’s look back on some of the key events of Term 1.
What a term it has been with such an exciting range of school events and to witness students’ academic, sporting, musical and pastoral progress and achievements. Here listed below are the highlights of the year.

The new school year 2022-2023 officially started at LEH International School Foshan on the 1st of September. We were delighted to welcome so many new and returning students to our beautiful campus and their smiling faces.

Queen’s Memorial 19/09/2022
Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, LEHF held a commemorative ceremony, with speeches, poetry and songs performed by teachers and students in honor of the longest serving monarch of the United Kingdom.

University Fair 20/10/2022
LEHF held its first University Fair on the 20th of October. The event was a success. Parents and students in attendance made the most of this opportunity to talk to experts and collect useful data.

Remembrance Day Assembly

On the 11th of November, we used our whole school assembly time to mark the Remembrance Day through music and poetry. We want our children to be global citizens who know and care about the world they live in.

Music Academy Term 1
09/2022-12/2022
LEHF Music Academy successfully opened its door on 17th September offering superior music and instrumental lessons, training and exam revision sessions every Saturday morning in Term 1.

We held three lunch time concerts this term, each showcasing the deep musical talent of LEHF students.

Christmas Concert 12/12/2022
LEHF Christmas Concert was held on the 12th of December. The event perfectly demonstrated the musical talent and passion of LEHF students and brought a strong Christmas atmosphere to the school.

LEHF hosted a whole school Sports Day and the Mini-World Cup on the 13th of December. Our young athletes showed off the skills they've learned in PE class this term, fought hard to win points for their House.

School Achievements and Milestones
During Term 1, the school kept growing, with the formal establishment of Prep School and new outstanding achievements and accreditations from various world-renowned academic institutions. These major developments cement our desire to be an outstanding provider of a world class education.
LEH International School Foshan became an official UCAS Registered Centre earlier in the term. As a UCAS registered centre, LEHF can help our students successfully complete the entire application process. Being a UCAS centre offers unique access to the students’ applications from their submission to their acceptance by higher education institutions in Great Britain, making sure our students complete all the necessary steps in due time.
The Launch of Prep School
In term 1, LEHF officially launched Prep School and extended its excellent British education to younger students of families from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and foreign countries working and living in the Greater Bay Area.
Student Leadership in Prep School
(Student Council Representative, Eco and Sports Ambassadors, Class Representative, House Captain)
In Prep School, during Term 1 we started to offer age-and-competency customed leadership programmes, for example, the student roles such as Student Council Representatives, Eco and Sports Ambassadors, Class Representative, House Captains. At LEHF, student leadership is one of the central strands of our student development and lies at the heart of our holistic education.

At LEH International School Foshan, the school year 2022-2023 welcomed its first IGCSE cohort entering Sixth Form, a new exciting chapter of their learning journey. They worked very hard and their effort paid off in their excellent IGCSE results.
Naomi Ranked Top in China
Naomi achieved, in the June 2022 IGCSE exam series, the highest mark in China for IGCSE English Literature. As a result, she is the recipient of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award, and was honored by the Cambridge International exam board for her incredible achievement.
Scarlett Received Top University Offer
LEHF first Year 13 student, Scarlett, has received an early university offer, a Bachelor of Music degree from the Royal Holloway College, University of London, which is consistently ranked amongst the top ten universities for music majors in the UK. She also experienced the privilege of interviewing for Cambridge University. We wish Scarlett every success.
LEHF new Parent Committee was officially launched in Term 1. The key role of the committee is to further enhance parent-school communication and reinforce home-school collaboration.
LEHF officially became an accredited LAMDA examination centre in October 2022. LAMDA graded exams demonstrate specific levels of competence in the areas of acting, public speaking and poetry recitation, and are designed to enhance students' performance and speech abilities and competitiveness for university applications.
Many LEHF students attended and achieved good results in the last AMT Competition.

From the many applications, LEHF has made it to the final three. The winner will be announced in February.
