The Canadian International School of Hefei’s World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Senior and Junior teams recently competed in the 2022-2023 Regional Rounds. Our teams worked together to win 17 gold medals and 12 silver medals in writing, debate, and quiz bowl competitions. Their exceptional performance means that all of our teams will advance to the Global Round, which will take place in August in Xiamen, China. Teams that successfully compete in the Global Round will advance to the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in Connecticut, USA in November. 

最近合肥加拿大外籍人员子女学校世界学者杯初级组高级组参加了2022-2023的地区赛。我们的团队共同努力，并在写作、辩论、知识竞赛中一共获得了17枚金牌和12枚银牌。他们出色的表现，使我们所有的团队都将晋级 8 月在中国厦门举行的全球赛。全球赛中获胜的团队将获取11月在美国康涅狄格州耶鲁大学举行的冠军赛的参赛资格。

A special mention should be made to our dedicated Grade 9 students Yunqian Jiang and Luke Zhang. In her first WSC competition, Yunqian placed first in the Scholar’s Challenge Literature category and second in the Art & Media category. Luke Zhang has competed in multiple WSC competitions and this year he was voted as the fourth-best individual debater in the Senior division.

特别值得一提的是我们9年级两位学生Yunqian Jiang和Luke Zhang。这是Yunqian Jiang第一次参加WSC竞赛，她获得了学者挑战文学类第一名和艺术&媒体类的第二名。Luke Zhang参加了多场WSC竞赛，今年他获得了高级组最佳个人辩手第四名。

Our teams are now preparing for the Global Rounds which focus on a new theme of 2023: Reconstructing the Past. The WSC Club is always looking for more members! Upcoming dates and locations for the next Regional Round (first round) can be found on the attached poster.
