4月14日,CBIS国际部六年级开展单元结题——“人类的生存与地球的持续变化息息相关”,孩子们作为“自然科技博物馆”的讲解员,自信、大方地给爸爸妈妈们介绍他们探究学习中掌握的知识,对概念的理解,求生策略的应用以及对不同内容的分析、综合和评价。

On April 14th, the sixth grade of CBIS International Department held a unit celebration titled "Human survival is closely related to the continuous changes of the Earth". As interpreters of the "Natural Science and Technology Museum", children confidently and generously introduced their knowledge acquired in exploratory learning, understanding of concepts, application of survival strategies, and analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of different contents to parents.

地球演变

EARTH EVOLUTION


本单元我们的中心思想是“人类的生存与地球持续变化息息相关”。通过学习“地球演变”,学生了解不同时期环境变化、海陆变迁和动植物演化,能解释不同的自然灾害,并举例说明应对不同灾害的策略。他们很好地展示了所学知识、理解性概念、以及在实际生活中应用和迁移的能力。

Our central idea in this unit is that "human survival is closely related to the continuous changes on Earth". By studying 'Earth Evolution', students have gained an understanding of environmental changes, land and sea changes, and animal and plant evolution in different periods. They could explain different natural disasters and provide examples of strategies to cope with them. They have demonstrated their knowledge, understanding concepts, application and transfer skills in daily life well.

本单元,孩子们利用KUD模式,聚焦事实性知识和技能到使用知识和技能以理解相关概念。

在学生构建个人意义和理解时,反复地运用事实性的知识和技能,并记住相关概念,最终达到掌握并延伸概括所必需的批判性思考。

In this unit, children used the KUD model to focus on factual knowledge and skills and used them to understand relevant concepts. When students constructed personal meaning and understanding, they repeatedly applied factual knowledge and skills, and remembered relevant concepts, ultimately achieving critical thinking necessary for mastering and extending generalization.

孩子们在探究的过程中,不断达到概念性理解,并承诺通过日常行动为保护地球做出自己的行动。

我们一起将自己已经施行或即将施行的行动写在便签上,为地球的可持续发展共同努力

During the process of exploration, children continuously achieved conceptual understanding and committed to taking their own actions to protect the Earth through daily actions.

Parents joined us in writing down their actions that they have already taken or are about to take on a note, working together for the sustainable development of the Earth.

可持续发展目标呼吁所有国家(不论该国是贫穷、富裕还是中等收入)行动起来,在促进经济繁荣的同时保护地球。地球可持续变化必须与一系列战略齐头并进,包括促进经济增长,遏制气候变化和保护环境。

我们倡议《2030年可持续发展议程》中“不让任何一个人落下”原则,期待您的行动,为保护地球做出自己的改变。

The Sustainable Development Goals call on all countries (whether they are poor, wealthy, or middle-income) to take action to promote economic prosperity while protecting the planet. Sustainable change on Earth must go hand in hand with a series of strategies, including promoting economic growth, curbing climate change, and protecting the environment.

We advocated for the principle of "no one should fall behind" in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and looked forward to your actions to make your own changes to protect the Earth.

数学结题展示

MATH DISPLAY


本单元孩子们在小组学习中表达自己对数学概念的理解,发展自己的逻辑思维,在使用数形结合思想的同时,增强数感及空间想象能力。在讲解的过程中不断修正提升,期待孩子们在求知的道路上走得又稳又远。

In this unit, children expressed their understanding of mathematical concepts in group learning, developed their logical thinking, and enhanced their sense of numbers and spatial imagination while using the combination of numbers and shapes. Continuously revised and improved during the explanation process, hoping that children can walk steadily and far on the path of seeking knowledge.

PYPX开题预告

PYPX OPENING PREVIEW


家长一直是我们CBIS学习社区的重要成员,支持学生追寻重要的、相关的、有趣的和具有挑战性的学习体验。

在小学毕业展探究开始之前,PYP协调员Ms.Spring和六年级的班主任一起和大家分享了PYPX是什么,它的进程及其对学生的意义,并且期待在孩子们探究的过程中得到支持和协助。相信家长的全力支持会进一步促进学校文化、学习社区的形成,我们的学生会在小学毕业展的探究之旅中绽放他们的光彩!

Parents have always been important members of our CBIS learning community, supporting students in pursuing important, relevant, interesting, and challenging learning experiences.

Before starting the exploration of PYPX next week, the PYP coordinator Ms. Spring and grade 6 homeroom teachers shared with parents what PYPX is, its process, and its significance for students. We looked forward to receiving support and assistance in the process of children's exploration. We believe that the full support of parents will further promote the formation of school culture and learning communities, and our students will shine their glory in PYPX journey!
