三年级教师

Jenny Clarke 女士拥有丰富的教学经验和专业知识。她从事教育行业超过5年,曾在英国和埃及的本地和国际学校任职,在关键阶段二(6-10岁)的英国国家课程教学具有优势专长。

请您介绍一下您在教育行业的经历,以及分享一下您能够为佛山霍利斯带来什么?


“我在担任实习教师的时候教过关键阶段一的混合班级,在正式担任教师的时候教过二年级的学生。我在自然拼读教学方面很有经验,自然拼读法是能够提高孩子早期阅读、拼写和写作拓展的好方法。因此我计划提供持续性和针对性的学习活动,让孩子们有机会练习和巩固在各学科曾经学习过的内容。针对佛山霍利斯的学生情况,我将会提供额外的教学支持和资源,帮助孩子克服在学习英语(作为第二语言)时遇到的困难。”

为什么您选择成为一名教师,以及为什么选择在预备部任教?


“我在英国上学校的时候,受到我的一些老师的启发。他们很有趣、有耐心、有爱心,让我觉得我的学术和发展对他们来说很重要。我喜欢帮助别人,喜欢和孩子们一起合作,这么看来,教师似乎就是我的理想职业了。我选择在预备部任教,是因为这个年龄段的孩子好奇心很强,常常对学习感到兴奋和期待。在教学中令人最开心的是看到孩子们在学术、人际交往和情感方面得到发展。”

您在教学中最重要的价值观或原则是什么?


“我能够让孩子们在安全的环境中获得支持和在挑战中成长,并得到尊重和培养,这是令我十分自豪的一个地方。作为教师,我会去了解每一个孩子的特性,与他们建立联系,教会他们互相尊重。我对孩子们有着很高的期望,并引导他们对自己的学术和个人发展有远大的志向和抱负。我将会积极促进孩子的全方位发展,鼓励他们在做任何事情时都要有独立性、抗压能力和自豪感。无论在哪个年级组,我都会把培养孩子们对阅读和写作的热爱放在首位。我坚信给孩子们提供的所有课程都应该是有趣的、具有挑战性的,并且与主题相关的。”

你如何进行差异化教学以满足不同学生的需求?


“差异化教学是儿童发展的关键,我们需要对每个孩子进行个性化的指导。为了做到这一点,我将不断地评估孩子们,在各学科都给他们设立具体目标。我会为需要进一步支持的孩子提供相应的辅助和支持,并确保班上的所有学生都能在挑战中成长。我非常希望孩子们能够在各个领域发展他们的适应力,并鼓励他们进行高层次的思考,发展问题解决能力。我会用不同的教学设计、方式和资源,确保孩子们对所学的内容有正确的理解。”

您对三年级学生有哪些目标?


“针对三年级学生,我所设定的一个重要目标是,在所有课程中增加口语和听力活动来提高他们的英语会话能力。我认为,我们不仅要提升他们的连贯阅读能力,还要发展他们的理解力和在阅读方面的其他能力。如果孩子们的母语不是英语,那么他们的英语词汇量很可能相当有限。因此,我每天都会积极让孩子们接触陌生的单词,来增加他们的词汇量。我知道有些孩子需要一些自然拼读方面的帮助,这是提高他们阅读和写作水平的一个重点发展方向。”

As the Head of the Prep School, I am very excited for another British trained talented and experienced teacher to be joining the team. Our year three’s are currently our youngest members of the school community, and they need nurturing with clear direction into our British curriculum. I am confident that Ms Clarke can do this and prepare all our year three students ready for year four.  Here at LEH Foshan Prep School, we understand that the early years of a child's education are crucial in shaping their future academic success. Ms Jenny Clarke

Year 3 Teacher

Ms Clarke, an experienced British classroom teacher, joins the LEH Foshan Prep School as the Year 3 teacher, bringing with her a wealth of teaching experience and expertise. Over the past 5 years, she has honed her skills in delivering the British National Curriculum, specifically in Key Stage 2 (KS2), both in the United Kingdom and in Egypt.


Ms Clarke graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a PGCE in Primary Education (5-11 years). This rigorous programme has equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a high-quality education to her young students, ensuring that they receive the best possible foundation for their future academic and personal pursuits.

Working with children makes teaching the most rewarding and enjoyable job in the world. I promise to deliver an exciting and engaging curriculum, which leaves children intrigued and desiring to know more. I am a hard-working, passionate teacher who ensures the academic, social and emotional needs of all children are a priority within the school environment. I will challenge, support and encourage children to develop holistically within my classroom whilst providing a safe learning environment where children feel happy and valued. I have high expectations for all children that I teach and will give them the confidence and resilience to challenge themselves in everything they do.

Q

Could you please tell us more about your experience in Education? And what are you most proud of bringing to LEH Foshan?


"I have previously taught a mixed year KS1 class as a trainee teacher and a year 2 class in my 2nd year of teaching. Therefore, I am experienced in teaching phonics as a tool for enhancing early reading, spelling and writing progression. I believe that children learn and develop through play in the early years of their school life. Therefore, I will provide purposeful and specific continuous provision activities to allow children the opportunity to practise and embed previous learning across all subjects. To meet the needs of LEH Foshan, I will ensure that I provide additional support and resources to overcome the difficulty that some children find when learning English as a second language."

What inspired you to become a teacher, and why did you choose to teach Prep School?


"I was inspired by certain teachers from my primary school in England. They were fun, patient, caring and made me feel that my learning and development was important to them. I love to help people and enjoy working with children and so teaching seemed the perfect profession for me. I have chosen to teach in Prep School as children of this age are so curious and are usually excited by learning experiences. The most enjoyable part of teaching is seeing a child develop academically, socially and emotionally."

What are some of the most important values or principles that guide your teaching?


"I pride myself on making children feel supported and challenged in a safe environment where they are valued and nurtured. Getting to know each child on a personal basis is an important aspect of my role as a teacher. I make every effort to build a relationship with every child and develop mutual respect. I have high expectations for all children and encourage all children to have high aspirations for their future in school and beyond. I am keen to develop all aspects of each child and encourage independence, resilience and pride in everything they do. Regardless of the year group, I will always prioritise developing a love of reading and writing within my class. I truly believe that all lessons should be fun, challenging and related to the topic."

How do you differentiate instruction to meet the needs of different students?


"Differentiation is key to children’s development. Learning needs to be personalised for each child. To do this, I will continually assess the children to highlight specific targets within each subject area. I will scaffold and support the children that need further instruction or modelling and will ensure that all students in my class are challenged. I am keen for children to develop their resilience in all areas. I will provide activities that encourage higher-level thinking and develop problem-solving skills. I use different learning styles, methods and resources to ensure that children have a sound understanding of the concepts taught."

What are some of your goals for the Year 3 students?


"A key goal for the year 3 students is to improve conversational English by increasing speaking and listening activities in all lessons. I am aware of the need to develop not only reading fluency, but also comprehension and other reading skills of all children. When children are not native English speakers, it is likely that their knowledge of English words is quite limited. Therefore, I am keen to develop the vocabulary of all children by exposing them to unfamiliar words daily. I am aware that there are some children who will need some phonics input and this will be a key focus to develop the standard of reading and writing of all children."
